Nice peaceful spot with spacious pitches, brilliant clean heated facilities. Staff were great, short walks to village, lovely mountain views for outdoors. Some reception closures & bar food was a bit iffy. Watch out for hairpin bends on the road in!

Liked Excellent heated toilet/shower facilities, large area under cover outside so we could eat without getting wet, great customer service, even phoned to check we were on our way and that reception shut at 5pm so gave us all the info we needed in case we were later.👍

Disliked Grass was about 18” high!

Liked Excellent facilities that are cleaned each day. Quick walk to the local village.

Disliked Arrived at 13:45 to find reception was closed between 13:30 and 15:30, so had to wait in the car park for just under 2 hours. Called the number at reception and was told just to wait…. should be clearly stated as we would’ve come earlier/later…

Liked Es un camping muy ttanquilo. Fuimos para San Juan y si no te gustan los petardo es un sitio ideal. La proximidad al pueblo de Esterri es otro punto a favor. Y la amabilidad del personal. Sin duda volveremos.

Local attractions

The site is niftily set in the centre of a Pyrenees valley, a short distance from the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, the only such space in Catalonia. The Aigüestortes Camping Resort team recommends fishing or mushroom foraging to start your local activities off, followed by mountain biking, canoeing or rafting along and on the Noguera Pallaresa river. More canoeing is at Torrassa Lake, a minute or two's stroll from the site. Drive just under 10 kilometres north to reach local town Esterri d’Àneu for access to more outdoor days including descents of the ravine of the river valley. From Esterri, it's half an hour's drive to the riverside town of Sort, where there's a medieval castle, more Noguera Pallaresa watersports and a butterfly museum close by at Pujalt. For a more peaceful time, drive or hike around the area's small villages to see their stone houses and bridges: the resort team can point you in the right direction.
