Spanish seaside holiday: sorted. Girona's WeCamp Cadaqués is in Cadaqués, the Med seaside town so splendidly scenic it was a fave of Dali and Picasso and has been providing inspiration to artists for centuries. (When you get there, you'll see why.) WeCamp Cadaqués has modern facilities including a sports area with a tennis court and two ping pong tables, and a pool overlooking the sea (for adults and children alike, but open during high season only), as well as an area with sunloungers. There are also two amenities blocks, a chemical disposal point and a laundry and washing-up area with washing machines and dryers. The on-site restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine and international cuisine to have on the terrace under the sun or stars; there's live music in high season too, for musical Spanish seaside suppers under a warm starry sky.

Liked De vriendelijkheid. De plekken netjes. Hygiëne top. Dichtbij het centrum wat via een weg aan de over van de weg te bereiken was.

Disliked De weg er naar toe smal voor een camper. Als je vanuit centrum naar camping loopt moet dit via een externe klim.

La atención recibida a la llegada

Disliked Hormigas voladoras muertas en los lavabos por la mañana. Quizás servicio de limpieza más temprano en los baños estaría mejor.

Limpieza/mentenimiento del porche entrada al restaurante con hojas y flores muertas por el suelo.

Local attractions

WeCamp Cadaqués is a short drive from Cap de Creus, the peninsula on Catalonia's northeastern tip that doubles as a national park. It's spectacularly scenic here (Dali painted the peninsula in his melting-watch work The Persistence of Memory) and a haven for peaceful wanders, boat trips and birdwatching. Also within easy reach is Port Lligat, the small Cap de Creus village where Dali lived for over 50 years and now with the Portlligat Museum-House in his former home celebrating his life and work. Perspective can be a bit skewed here, so perhaps don't have a Spanish wine or three at lunch before going in... Walking tours, bike hire, kayak, sailing courses, diving, hiking and fishing are all available nearby: ask the WeCamp Cadaqués team for recommendations.
