Stellar times in the surroundings also pretty much guaranteed: Camping Popas Zodiac is in the Romanian Riviera resort of Jupiter, 100 metres from its neighbouring resort of Neptun. Both have shops, restaurants, amusement parks (the site is right between two) and bikes for rent to set off exploring along the coast. Just south along the coast at 10 minutes’ drive is Mangalia and the setting of the Callatis Festival, the biggest summer event in the country. An international ballet festival and music festival and the biggest street dance event in Romania are also held in August, as is the Libery Parade street dance event on the beach between Saturn and Venus. At other times of the year, mosey along to the archaeology museum for a browse of Hellenstic exhibits, or roam around the harbour to see the boats coming in. A 35-minute drive north up the coast leads to county capital Constanța, a city dating back to 600BC. There’s plenty to see here, such as Ovid's Square (the writer was banished to these parts by Augustus in 8AD); the archaeology park; the Romanian Navy Museum; the Fantasio Theatre, and the casino with its spectacular views of the sea: you could probably gamble on having a splendid time here too...
