Fancy packing your break with all manner of outdoorsy activities – and yet barely having to move from where you’re staying? Set forth for Future Is Nature - Playground, a couple of minutes’ drive from Sala Biellese, for an action-packed stay in a quiet corner of rural Piedmont. The motto they live by here is ‘play - eat - sleep’, and it’s a most handy way to sum up what this place is all about. But this is no ordinary play area… this is a setup where groups of various sizes can challenge each other (and themselves) to activities including capture-the-flag games, combat archery and the mysterious puzzles of the escape wood. (Please note extra charges and minimum group sizes apply for these games). Beyond such escapades are chances to get out into the scenic surrounds without having to get involved in any competitive strategies – the site team can also sort such outings as horse riding, guided walks and leisurely guided roams on hired e-bikes. ‘Play’ all sorted, it’s time to turn attentions to the equally important ‘eat’ part… and again, much of this can be taken care of right there and then. For a small extra charge groups can hire the barbecue area (with a table, charcoal, cooking kit and meat provided for you) or use the picnic area. A friendly restaurant with outdoor seating is also on hand for all sorts of Italian eats with even less effort.

Liked Future Is Nature - Playground in Sala Biellese is a lovely spot overall. Located right in the middle of the forest, it offers a very peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The site is clean and well-maintained, which we really appreciated.
We stayed for one night and were quite satisfied with our experience. It's a perfect place if you're looking for a quiet escape into nature. Would recommend for a relaxing overnight stay!

Liked The camping is situated in a quiet area, next to a forest and vith beautiful views on the mountains. The staff is very friendly and always reqdy to help whenever you need something. We have appreciated a lot the cleanliness of the toilets, showers and laundry room and the fact that we could choose the pitch for our tent. It was by far the best camping we stayed at during these holidays.

Disliked We did not have anything to dislike on the camping itself, the only problem we had were the mosquitos, so if you decide to visit the camping, make sure to have some lotions against insects with you.

Liked Het warme ontvangst en de ruimte waarin jezelf kiest waar je tent en auto of ander kampeermiddel neerzet was top. Wij waren op doorreis en daarvoor was het misschien wat ver van de snelweg, maar voor ons de moeite waard.

Disliked Uiteraard valt er aan de muggen weinig te doen, maar die blijven natuurlijk wel heel irritant. Verder hadden we de pech dat we er op een maandag aankwamen en het naastgelegen restaurant die gesloten was. Beiden gewoon pech natuurlijk. Het sanitair gebouw is gedateerd maar op orde.

Liked Lovely area, friendly hosts, decent showers and the restaurant a short walk away is also great.

Disliked Noisy but staff told where to pitch if away from the noise if I wanted some quiet so that wasn't an issue.

Liked All of it. Spacious so we could choose a slightly quieter spot for our tent. Excellent location, clean and appropriately sized toilet/shower/washing up facilities. Friendly hosts. Good bar/snack/breakfast area.

Liked La situation et le calme. Le restaurant est accessible et bon marché. Dans l’ensemble, le site n’est pas bruyant. Le personnel était accueillant et sympathique

Disliked Les moustiques qui envahissent la terrasse du restaurant, les sanitaires hommes qui n’avaient pas assez d’eau, et le prix du café excessif, outre un petit déjeuner frugal.

If you’ve got the requisite numbers it would, of course, be possible to stick around on site for your whole break shuttling from activity to activity – but if you’re after a break from all the rivalry there’s plenty to amuse yourselves with elsewhere nearby. A fine place to start is at the donkey sanctuary 10 minutes’ walk away, where you can take tours and meet more than 100 friendly furry residents from around the continent. Alternatively, try your luck spotting local wildlife on walks through Bessa Natural Reserve (10 minutes’ drive) or Burcina Park (25 minutes). Urban wanders aren’t far off, either – both Biella and Ivrea are about 20 minutes’ drive away, and worth a visit (don’t wear your finest clobber for the latter if you’re heading there during its carnival, as it stages a huge Battle of the Oranges that fills the streets with folk pelting fruit at each other). Still got competitive urges to get out? There’s a golf course about 10 minutes drive from the site as well.
