  • Quiet family-owned site on the shore of Iseo lake
  • Close to watersports on the lake and hiking in the mountains
  • In stunning lake and mountain surroundings
Just look at that spectacular setting... Family-owned Camping Pilzone is slap bang next to Iseo lake, a stunning spot of clear blue waters surrounded by handsome mountains and dotted with medieval towns around its shoreline. Although it's only a stroll from the site to Pilzone town centre, it's all pretty peaceful here as it's set down a private road. Camping Pilzone has direct access to the lake, its beach and its range of watersports, and is close to the Taste Train food and wine tour, paragliding in the mountains, and boat trips to Monte Isola island, the biggest lake isle in south and central Europe. Brescia is around 30 minutes' drive away. Pitches with a view are what's on offer at Camping Pilzone, along with a bar with outdoor terrace to drink in more lake views. There's also free wifi, and shared amenities including bathrooms with toilets, hot showers and disabled access.

Local attractions

Swim and fish in this lovely lake right next to the site, or venture four kilometres away to access sailing, canoeing, kayaking and windsurfing from the local watersports centre. If you'd prefer to stay on land, take the fab Taste Train food and wine tour starting from the train station at Iseo, also four kilometres away, to chuff gently through the Camonica valley and around Lake Iseo, all via scrumptious samples of the local cuisine and wines. (And if you'd like to go way up high above land, head off for a paragliding trip at Forcella, to Marone and Iseo and then back.) A must if you're around this lake is a ferry trip to Monte Isola, the biggest lakeside island in Italy. It has an 11th-century church and 15th-century fortress to see, but its main draw is its bike lanes and hiking paths, all in spectacular setting: cars aren't allowed on the island and trails crisscross its entire surface. Take the nine-kilometre circular trail around the isle then climb up to its highest point, the Madonna shrine reachable from the village of Cure. For Lombardy luxuriating, the thermal baths of Boario Terme are just under 40 kilometres away.
