  • Spacious pitches on the banks of the Drôme 2km from Die town centre
  • Col de Rousset 25 minutes' drive; hikes and canyoning nearby
  • Swimming pool, canoe hire, snack bar and play area on site
What a fabulous location – Camping Onlycamp de Chamarges is not just in the Drôme region but on the banks of the river itself and surrounded by lovely lavender fields and mountains. This site on the edge of Die makes a splendidly relaxing place to spend a few days, with spacious sunny or shaded pitches and plenty of leisure and practical facilities. On the leisure front, guests have access to a large open-air pool, a play area and areas for games of volleyball, table tennis and pétanque. In summer there’s also a canoe hire service so you can go paddling down the river. On the practical side, there’s a snack bar and a bread delivery service, plus a washing-up area, a motorhome service point and bathrooms with toilets and showers. A wifi connection is available too (but only around the reception area, so you can fully switch off in other areas…) The team at reception are a friendly bunch that are on hand to help you out with suggestions and advice for where to go and what to do nearby. Among those suggestions may well be nearby hiking trails or chances for intrepid mountain bikers to have a go at some of the passes that feature in the Tour de France route. Being on the edge of Die is handy for when you need things like shops and restaurants – the town centre is about two kilometres away and accessible via a cycle path, so you may like to bring bikes along for easy jaunts to the market or the shops.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Amazing views of nearby mountains, facilities (toilets, showers, personal sinks, dishwashing sinks) were modern and clean. Friendly staff. The swimming pool and nearby river were very nice on the warm weather. Boulangerie and supermarkets 10 minute walk away. Did not notice the passing train at all.

Disliked Quite a few mosquitos so bring spray and window nets for the warm summer nights.

Over all, loved this place, lovely site and staff.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Very nice location with very friendly staff. Facilities were great, very clean and fantastic condition.
Lidl super market was very close which was very convenient!

Disliked Restaurant was supposed to be open until 8pm but cook didn't show so it was closed at 6pm instead which was a pain because we hadn't planned to cook as we were only staying 1 night.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, we're really sorry about the situation with our young cook but he's can't come back to work because of his health !
We hope to see you again in our campsite !

Electric optional grass pitch

From the manager: Bonjour,
Merci pour votre commentaire, nous faisons de notre mieux pour satisfaire nos campeurs et prenons en compte vos remarques pour encore améliorer leurs séjours chez nous.
C'est avec plaisir que nous vous accueillerons de nouveau chez nous.

Bien cordialement.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Location is excellent, easy walk to supermarket and the town. Good size pitches (our pitch didn't have much shade) Pool was a good size. Showers and toilets were clean, nice to have warm water for the washing up. Snack bar was very nice. Good to be able to order bread and croissant for the next morning. Staff were very nice and very friendly. Lovely river to have a cool down in

Disliked The concrete area around the pool was very rough on the feet and there was only 5 loungers, due to this we couldn't spend any amount of time round the pool

From the manager: Hello,
Thank you for your comment, we do our best to satisfy our campers and take into account your remarks to further improve their stays with us.
A few days before your arrival, we had the unpleasant surprise of finding that customers had broken 4 deckchairs.
It is with pleasure that we will welcome you back to our home.

Best regards.

The Chamarges campsite team.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Geweldige camping. Lekker rustig maar toch alles aanwezig; schoon sanitair, een zwembad, kleine horeca gelegenheid (savonds). En natuurlijk de prachtige omgeving en de naastgelegen rivier. Helemaal top! Tot volgend jaar! 🏝️

Local attractions

Die (10 minutes’ cycle/half an hour’s walk) is a lovely town to wander around, with a cathedral, some sections of the old city walls and a honey farm to visit. Another highlight (if you’re not with the family) is Caveau Jaillance & Muséobulles, where you can learn all about the history of wine making in the area and take some tasters. For kid-friendly outings nearby, try La Ferme aux Papillons, watersports and an inflatable obstacle course at Delta Waterpark or the treetop trails of Drôme aventure – all are within a 10-minute drive. There are several wineries within a similar drive too if you’d rather continue your exploration of that aspect of the area. If you’re keen to focus on outdoor activities, there are plenty of hiking routes in the area, plus adrenaline activities in the form of canyoning outings (several centres in Die organise these) or the summer mountain activities at Col de Rousset (25 minutes’ drive) – think things like luge runs and trottin’herbe bike runs.
