  • Quiet family site next to the Ligne river for fishing and paddling
  • Petting farm, playground and shop selling farm produce
  • Near outdoor activities in the Ardèche mountains
Kids will have a splashingly good time at the peaceful family site of Les Marronniers near Montréal – where Ardèche activities are close by for grownups too: this quiet and scenic space is in a lushly green setting at the foot of a wooded hill in the southern Ardèche, next to the Ligne river for serene days angling as well as safe paddling for tiddlers. Les Marronniers is on the edge of the Ardèche Mountains Regional Nature Park and its vast 180,000 hectares of valleys, forest, rivers, volcanoes and gorges for lengthy days of hiking and horse riding, canoeing and climbing and cycling. The stunning Ardèche setting of Vallon-Pont-d'Arc is within half an hour for kayaking trips underneath the famed stone arch: very much a must around these parts... For days on site, there's a small farm where the menagerie-minded can meet chickens, ducks, rabbits and the site pony, and a playground, table tennis, a volleyball net and a pétanque court are to hand for more energised times. Barbecues are allowed: source your foodie needs from Montréal village five minutes' drive away and from the small shop on site selling fruit and veg from the farm and local products such as bread and jams. Or opt for idle eating times all the way through your hol, at the site restaurant serving breakfast every morning and evening dinners by reservation. Les Marronniers has free wifi, a launderette, a washing-up area and three washroom blocks with toilets and showers.
