What a watery lot of fun is on offer at holiday park Camping Les Pirons, a family-friendly site with its own waterpark, set a mere 300 metres from the sea, and with its own wellness centre with Jacuzzis and steamy sessions.
This peaceful and family-friendly site in the Vendée is in a pine and oak forest about a kilometre and a half from the beach of Les Sables d’Olonne. It's in a countryside setting of green scenery and open spaces, with plenty of activities and attractions in the surrounding area: try surfing around here, or scuba diving, or boating, or beach basks… or might you fancy a theme park or two…?
On site, the Pirons waterpark has an indoor pool, heated and open for the entire season; a paddling pool; a lagoon with water jets, and two outdoor pools with an outdoor shallower pool with water toys, all opening as soon as the weather allows.
On land there's all manner of sporty stuff to get stuck into, including a general sports area, a ping pong table, a games room, a pétanque court and a playground with a trampoline and a bouncy castle. If the thought of all this activity is leaving you somewhat faint, Les Pirons also has a wellness area with Jaccuzzi, sauna, hammam and a water playground.
To keep all ages yet more busy, an extensive entertainment and activities programme including a kids' club, sports tournaments, bingo, themed nights and karaoke runs in July and August. A mini market, bar, snack bar and beach shuttle bus (fee applies) are all available throughout the season.
The closest town centre and shops are two kilometres away.

Golf, horse riding, scuba diving and watersports are among the many activities available nearby, all among the spectacular surroundings of the Vendée.
Camping Les Pirons's local town is Chateau-D'Olonne, a small and peaceful coastal town a few kilometres from the much busier Sables d'Olonne and with a much quieter vibe around its beach and coastal path. The small town and harbour of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie lies to D'Olonne's north-west.
The big zoo is one of the most famed attractions at nearby Sables d'Olonne, but the seaside resort is also well known for its beach, three kilometres of sand with plenty of activities as well as bars, restaurants, nightclubs and a casino along its beachfront.
Fishing, paintballing, go-karting and miniature golf are all available not far from the site, or for a cultural day, get along to Château de Talmont and Château des Aventuriers, or the nearby museum of seashells and the museum of automobiles.
The Puy du Fou and Futuroscope theme parks are also within easy day trip distance.
