- A tree-lined site on the banks of the Loire Valley’s Vègre river
- Set in Loué, less than a five-minute walk away from a swimming pool
- Snack bar on site; play area, walking circuit and fishing in town
Head on a hol at Camping La Sittelle in Loué and this lovely site’s sure to have you lingering for longer, especially if you’re fond of the water – it’s just off the banks of the Vègre river for kayaking and right next door to the town’s swimming pool complex…
While away days supervising the kids as they swoosh down the slides or get involved in aqua aerobics at the outdoor heated pool near dog-friendly Camping La Sittelle in Sarthe where evenings are best spent watching the entertainment or piling plates high at the snack bar. Restaurants are also a short stroll away around Loué if you're after more choice.
The town has a park for the kids to play at too, as well as a 16-kilometre-long botanical walking circuit (starting from the Place Hector Vincent just outside the site). Those who fancy fishing can angle at the river or in the Laroussi Carp Lake a 30-minute drive away.
Other sporty endeavours nearby include bowling, tennis and workout sessions on the outdoor gym equipment – amp up the pace by visiting the 24-hour races of Le Mans circuit, just over half an hour’s drive away.
In Loué to lock down trips into the surrounding Loire Valley? You’re in luck: this park’s well located to help you see some of France’s most stunning scenery as well as architectural hotspots like the Château de Malicornes sur-Sarthe (30 minutes) and the 10th-century Benedictine Abbey of Saint Peter in Solesmes (also 30 minutes).
