Avoid if you’re on your period and bring a brush a mop and duster !
Altaï yurt
Liked The site was nice and quiet for the first night (second evening loud bass music from somewhere) free roaming animals are nice and the bar is quiet with a relaxed atmosphere. If camping you get a solo spot which means you can have a private space. Staff friendly bar not open late.
Disliked I formally dispute the €50 cleaning charge issued following our recent stay, and to provide context and feedback regarding the condition of the accommodation and our departure.
Upon arrival, we found the eco showers had not been refilled and the first shower was unusable due to mud and an extremely unpleasant odor from the toilets. These initial impressions already set a disappointing tone for the stay.
After departure, I received an email citing "damages" and mess left behind. This came as a shock, as I had gathered all towels, done the dishes, and ensured we left in as orderly a state as possible given our early Eurotunnel departure. We also took out the bins and grouped all used linen and towels.
The most troubling part of your email was the allegation of a "blood-stained mess." I was on my period during our stay, and while I took all usual sanitary precautions, a small amount of menstrual blood may have transferred onto a towel or sheet. As someone who has worked in hospitality, I find it outrageous to be charged for what is a natural occurrence. The towels provided were stark white, and while unfortunate, any marks should be easily washable. The bed sheet I used was already discolored with bleach stains, and the towels were very worn and rough — hardly in pristine condition to begin with.
It is extremely disappointing to feel penalized for something so minor and natural, especially when no cleaning supplies were provided that would allow guests to clean to your apparent standards. If you expect the accommodation to be guest-ready without staff intervention, I recommend supplying eco-friendly cleaning products, a mop, a broom, and designated linen bags. We had none of these options available.
The toilets have no bins for sanitary products or eco friendly bags to put them in.
As for other alleged issues:
* A single yogurt spill from my child may have been overlooked in our rush, and for that I apologise. Considering he ate almost all of the small paw patrol yogurt (10g per pot) I can’t find this to be a huge cleaning issue ?
* We left a packet of hot dogs in the fridge and a missed nappy — again, a result of time constraints, not negligence. The nappy was wet and not soiled and although I appologise for this missed item, I find the exasperated effect on cleaning staff out of measure.
* The yurt itself was not in a condition I would consider suitable for the price: there were water stains (one covered by a rug), rust from the metal bed frames that left black residue on the floor, broken or non-functional plug sockets, and general damp throughout.
Additionally, I paid £180 for a different yurt with a proper double bed and was instead moved to one with small single beds due to a booking issue on your system. As someone with a chronic illness and nerve pain, this significantly impacted my comfort and quality of sleep, and I would never have chosen that accommodation knowingly.
The toilet paper in the toilets is generic not eco friendly, no bio friendly cleaning products are provided. No mops or brushes, no facilities in the toilets for disposal of sanitary products and no baby changing facilities.
In conclusion, I feel the €50 charge is unjustified based on the condition we left the yurt in, the natural and minor nature of the alleged “damage,” and the pre-existing poor state of the facilities themselves. I have included photos from our departure that clearly show the condition of the space, which does not match the description provided in your email.
I strongly request a review of this charge and an acknowledgment of the issues raised. I hope you take this feedback seriously, as the experience fell well below expectations for the price paid and the standards advertised.

Electric optional grass and earth touring pitch
Liked The ethos. The Donkey’s. The staff. The setting. The bar and the food. An hour and a half to/from Calais. Good village and towns near by.antiques, farm markets and restaurants. Rural and pretty next to a lake.
Disliked Think the bathrooms could be improved. Shared with a school and not much privacy.

A rustic though has clean facilities on a novel site.
Electric optional grass and earth touring pitch
Liked Set in beautiful surroundings to the front of the site, overlooking a large expanse of water.
Novelty with 2 wandering donkeys, goats & sheep!
We were 1 of 2 camping units staying overnight early in the season & clearly lots of other non-residential business being catered for in the restaurant/bar garden, which cleared as soon as the sun set & temperature dipped.
Evidence of clearing of scrub, perhaps still ongoing preparation for the summer season.
Disliked Key locking system (key on a flexible wire) for toilets & showers would be a challenge for small children & lock-in likely if not closely supervised.
Don’t go if you dislike animals!
