It's free, quick and easy!
- Activity-filled site with a private beach on Lake Agout
- A 10-minute drive to Anglès; La Tourbière de Canroute 20 minutes
- Fishing, boating, restaurant, bar and evening entertainment on site
With a gorgeous hillside setting overlooking Lake Agout, Camping de la Raviège is a family-friendly site with lots of watersports going on, and it’s also a springboard to all sorts of outdoorsy adventures in the Midi-Pyrénées region of Tarn.
This is a place where you can all get active from the get-go: swim from the beach down at the lake, fish, join in kayaking and sailing sessions, or take the kids out on pedalos. Alternatively, get the walking shoes on and take your pick of strenuous all-day hikes on the steep slopes of the Massif Central foothills or gentle, kid-friendly walks in the forests of Espinouse or Somail, with a picnic break in the middle.
You can also explore the dramatic Tarn countryside on horseback, or take to your mountain bike on challenging hillside routes. Wherever you are, be sure to keep a look out for wild mouflon sheep, roe deer and rare eagles as you wander. Really not up to all this physical exercise? Simply chill in the spas at Lacaune-les-Bains (half an hour’s drive).
Life’s necessities are all taken care of on site, so you'll be free to get out and explore. Why bother self catering when you can relax and savour supper on the sunny restaurant terrace? Or maybe you'd like to let your offspring make new pals of their own age at the kids’ club while you enjoy a leisurely glass of red in the bar, accompanied by live music in the evening.
Rainy day? Unlikely, but there’s a games room and library (with wifi access too) to keep everyone entertained.

Local attractions
It’s all about the hiking and biking in the untamed Midi-Pyrénées foothills; get the kids going on easy trails like the circular Tourbière de Canroute (20 minutes’ drive) and the Sentier de l’enfant sauvage, a woodland sculpture trail. Cycle up to the hilly viewpoint at Vue Panoramique de Fontfroide or around the water’s edge to the dam at Barrage Ruisseau d’Issalès (all half an hour).
The Tarn has more than its fair share of historic villages like Anglès (10 minutes), once fortified and with meandering alleys leading uphill through an imposing medieval gateway. Another lovely spot is riverside Brassac (20 minutes) with a majestic château to nose around and terrace cafés for leisurely lunches.
Tour Le Presbytère de Tastavy (25 minutes) to see the colourful frescoes in the church choir, or learn about the local spinning industry with demonstrations at the Musée de la Filature. You can stock up on gourmet souvenirs after having a wander around ancient stone houses and barns at Maison de Payrac (both half an hour).
