It's free, quick and easy!
- Quiet site surrounded by trees, a few minutes' walk from Montfrin
- Peaceful Provence setting along the banks of the Gardon
- Snack bar and themed evenings available
It's peaceful, green and thoroughly serene… but you'll find it a cinch to sort supplies and other essentials at the Gard's Camping BelleRive.
Although it's in a quiet setting on two and a half hectares of dense woodland, this Provence setting is an easy few minutes' potter from local village Montfrin, and a five-minute drive from a shopping centre in case holiday essentials for you include new threads (oui).
A public pool is just 50 metres from here, but you may opt for getting out on wilder waters instead: Camping BelleRive is on the banks of the Gardon and you can book canoeing sessions on site for paddles within easy reach. The Rhône is within a few kilometres for fishing, the lake at Vallabrègues is 20 minutes' drive from the site, and if you yearn for more urban adventures, Nîmes, Uzès and Avignon are 30 to 40 minutes by car.
BelleRive has shaded pitches along the riverbank and under the shade of acacia trees. It's nicely set up for other conveniences as well as its nifty setting: there's a snack bar selling drinks and light bites, and a laundry room has washing machines, tumble dryers and an iron so you can keep threads – old and new – looking pristine.

Local attractions
What a lot there is to see around here, from ancient Roman settlements to wild white horses around the region's marshlands.
For cultural hotspots, Avignon (30 minutes' drive) is a top destination with the Pont du Gard, Palais des Papes, the Pont d'Avignon and the Festival d'Avignon. The Roman amphitheatres in the cities of Nîmes and Arles (both (35 minutes) are well worth a look too, as is the town of Tarascon (20 minutes), standing scenically on the banks of the Rhône. The hilltop town of Les-Baux-de-Provence (35 minutes) is in such a spectacular setting it's been used for several films.
For wildlife watching, the Camargue marshes (30 minutes) are home to many species of critters including the famed white Camargue horses, thought to be one of the most elderly equine breeds in the world.
