- Emerald Coast site between Saint Malo and Cap Fréhel
- Direct access to the beach, 1.5 kilometres from Saint-Cast-le-Guildo
- Snack bar serving pizza, chips and fresh local mussels
Just cop a look at those coastal views. Camping La Crique is on Brittany's spectacular Emerald Coast, the stunning part of shoreline stretching from Cancale to Cap d'Erquy on Baie de St-Brieuc – and so jaw-droppingly scenic it's been lauded as an open-air museum.
Jaggy crags, sheer cliffs and teeny coves all await for adventurers here, alongside famed Breton cultural (and food, and cider) spots like Saint-Malo and Dinard, and small fishing villages where you can source more of the same. There are also golden beaches aplenty around this chunk of this gorgeous coast; handily, one is directly accessible from the site.
Camping La Crique is within walking distance (or a few minutes' drive) of the fishing port of Saint-Cast-le-Guildo, and has hugely handsome vistas of the Atlantic Ocean and the famed castle of Fort-la-Latte. It's a rightly popular stopoff and holiday place for anglers and divers, as well as hikers who come to tackle the coastal path, as the GR 34 long-distance trail runs alongside the site.
After your outdoor exertions in the local area, make your way back to base for a bite to eat at the snack bar (moules et frites, perhaps), or to fire up a barbie while the sun sinks down over the water.
The site also has a small grocery shop, an info point in reception, shuffleboard and a bowling alley, a playground and a TV room. Shops are within 15 minutes' walk.

Local attractions
The site is set between Saint Malo and Cap Frehel, for days roaming the Emerald Coast or staying close to base for the many activities of Saint-Cast-le-Guildo in high season: sailing lessons, windsurfing and diving are all available. The Saint-Cast-le-Guildo weekly market is held on a Monday morning.
Your nearest beach (oui, the one directly accessible from the site) is La Mare, one of six in Saint-Cast. Sand fans should also take a roam around Quatre Vaux beach 15 minutes' drive south, hailed for its fishing and its peaceful family vibe, or head west to Sables d'Or-les-Pins (30 minutes) for more of the same.
Combine beach, fishing and history days with a trip to Cap Fréhel, home of two lighthouses and stunning scenery out towards the Channel Islands. One of the lighthouses (the one built in 1950) is open to visitors; after that, drive on to Sables d'Or-les-Pins for beach basking, then to Dinard for dinner.
Saint-Malo is 50 minutes' drive away and Rennes an hour and 10 minutes.
