  • Small, quiet Normandy family campsite 10 minutes’ drive from Bayeux
  • Omaha Beach 25 minutes’ drive, and Juno Beach 35 minutes
  • Shop for groceries and camping essentials; walks and cycling from site
When you’re after a quiet and simple Normandy camping experience or looking for an overnight stop to and from the English Channel ferry ports, check out Aire Naturelle d’Agy. This low-key retreat from the hustle of city life is surrounded by greenery and comes with spectacular views over the Calvados region’s countryside. Modern facilities on site include hot showers, toilets and a washing-up area, plus a small shop where you can pick up basic groceries and some camping essentials. Anything else can be found in historic Bayeux (10 minutes’ drive), with its choice of restaurants, markets and shops. If you’re looking for outdoor activities, you’ve come to the right place too, as there are plenty of hiking and cycling trails to be followed around the rural village of Agy (five minutes) – and as the site is pet-friendly, you can bring your four-legged pals to help you explore the area. For more sporty action, you can go fishing on the River Drôme or horse riding through peaceful woodland in less than 10 minutes’ drive.

Electric optional grass tent pitch

Liked Pretty and quiet site with all the facilities you might wish. Clean and well maintained, it will look even better in a few years' time once the newly planted hedge shrubs begin to mature.

There were pretty solar powered LED lights scattered round the site which at night and matched with a starlit sky looked magical.

The Patron was friendly and helpful and provided access to a minimal stock of food if required and even cooled wine!

The site was ideally situated for us to access Bayeux and the coast and, with our tandem, was around a 20 min ride to Bayeux centre via a safe, low traffic route. Only one fairly steep hill to navigate on the way there and the return journey was easy!

Good value, considering the facilities provided which included free WiFi across the site. Pitches were of a generous size and ample room for our 4 Mtr. bell tent, tandem and car.

We would certainly recommend this site for other tent campers.

Disliked Pity the motion sensor timer switch in the disabled facility (combined shower, basin, toilet) was so short!

Everything. A small and peaceful site where everything was clean and well maintained. The…

Staff very friendly.

Convenient to local facilities and great location for D-Day sites and museums.

Electric optional grass campervan pitch

Liked The campsite is small and well maintained. It is situated in a beautiful rural location which means it is quiet and restful. Pitches are a really good size which is great for campervans with awnings. The facilities are excellent and Michel keeps everything spotless. He could not have been more helpful and replied quickly to messages sent concerning arrival times which was very reassuring. He also provides a small shop with various essentials.
We took bicycles and the site is within cycling distance from Bayeaux and the beaches.

Disliked Nothing.

From the manager: Merci de votre message
Au plaisir de vous accueillir à nouveau sur notre camping.
Michel

Local attractions

Bayeux (10 minutes’ drive) is close by when you stay at Aire Naturelle d’Agy, making this a useful base for visiting the fabled 230-foot-long Bayeux Tapestry. Don’t rush off though once you've seen the main event though; stay to tour the almost-untouched pretty medieval centre of the town, which escaped serious damage in World War II. Look out for the stately Gothic-style Notre Dame de Bayeux Cathedral, then have a stroll past the half-timbered houses lining the River Aure. History lovers wishing to explore the Normandy Landing Beaches are in pole position too. Omaha Beach (25 minutes) has remains of German bunkers and a stirring steel memorial to those who died in World War II, or you can visit the Juno Beach Centre (35 minutes), crammed with war memorabilia. Kids with you? If they need a change from war tourism, take them zorbing or climbing on rope courses at Bayeux Aventure - Parc de loisirs et attractions (10 minutes), or put your heads together to solve the puzzles at La Bulle Temporelle - Escape Game Bayeux (15 minutes).
