Electric grass and earth pitch (XL, comfort)

Liked The pool

Disliked When we arrived, our pitch still had a tent on it. We travelled a very long way and just wanted to get the tents up. Even though the site apologised, it could have been avoided if the pitch had been checked before we arrived, thus saving us waiting for the tent owners to come back late and get their stuff packed up, and us putting up a tent In the forest in the dark.
The pitches we booked were meant to be extra large comfort pitch, which we paid for, were definitely not extra large by any means, my four berth tent just managed to squeeze on the pitch and once the guide ropes were pegged out, there was no room to walk up or around the tent without tripping over the ropes, which my elderly mum done most times, that’s why we paid for the extra large pitch so mum could have lots of room to avoid any kind of problem.
The facilities could have done with more cubicles for washing and toilets. They were kept clean most of the time. Some of them were a bit out dated. We also saw people from the mobile homes coming to use the toilets ???? Have no idea why they would.
It’s advertised as quite, nope it’s not quite, it’s very noisy, but that was ok as it’s what kids do and teenagers, but don’t advertise quite site when it’s not.

From the manager: Once again, we can only apologize for this situation, which is a first for us.
I see that nothing has happened. You should have rented a site in the middle of the desert to have the necessary space, to be alone without children, and therefore to avoid noise.
The principle of a small family campsite is to be surrounded by life and joy.
Thank you.

Electric grass and earth pitch (XL, comfort)

Liked A wonderful campsite, very naturally beautiful but with all the facilities needed and lots for the kids to do. The best location . Samuel and his wife go that extra mile to ensure that everything is perfect for their guests. They work really hard but are always full of smiles and fun. We had the best holiday .

Disliked Nothing .

Electric grass and earth tent, touring caravan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Excellent small family run campsite with a really unique feel. Nice pool and outdoor sports area for children to play in. Big pitches with a really spacious feel between each one. Slightly off the beaten track in a really quiet area yet close enough to Domme and Sarlat.

From the manager: Thank you very much.

Local attractions

Tempted to see a little more of the river? Hire canoes on site and paddle off to see what you can spot along the river banks. For different watery views, head up to La Roque-Gageac (20 minutes’ drive) to board a gabarre trip along the Dordogne river. Both the Dordogne river and the wider area are well known for their pretty villages, of course – a few that are well worth visiting nearby include Domme (20 minutes), Les Eyzies de Tayac Sireuil (45 minutes) and the fabulous clifftop village Rocamadour (an hour), home to the cheese of the same name. While you’re over in Rocamadour you may like to stop in to meet the monkeys at La Forêt des Singes or continue on to Gouffre de Padirac (an hour and 10 minutes direct). Closer to home, Château de Castelnaud-la-Chapelle (25 minutes) and Château des Milandes (35 minutes) are good places to get your historic-building fix, and Jardins de Marqueyssac (25 minutes) is full of lovely walks.
