Camping Irakli Wild

- Small, peaceful family site right next to protected Irakli Beach
- Half an hour's drive to Sveti Vlas or Sunny Beach
- Direct beach access; dogs welcome; food truck on site for meals
Now, here’s a location that should soothe your soul – in fact, it’s such a lovely spot that even looking at the pics may well make you feel just that little bit happier.
Camping Irakli Wild is a small site tucked away in a wooded area just behind Irakli Beach on a quiet stretch of coast just north of Emona. And Irakli is not just any beach – while some parts of Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast have been heavily developed for tourism, this is one of the country’s three beaches designated for ecotourism. That means visitors here will be treated to a peaceful and pristine setting, in an area that’s home to certain species of plants found nowhere else in the country and protected by the Biodiversity Act.
In keeping with its natural surroundings, this is a peaceful and laidback site where you’ll be staying on simple pitches scattered around among the trees (which provide both shade and the chance to see a bit of local wildlife). The quiet setting is just right for things like reading, yoga or sports; noise is banned after 10pm.
You’re welcome to bring dogs, barbecues, outdoor furniture and gazebos to get your little patch set up just as you’d like it. Shared facilities include showers, toilets and a play area, but please note there’s no drinking water here (pick up supplies in Banya, 10 minutes’ drive away). Solar panels also provide electricity for charging phones, computers and lights between 9am and 4pm.
Become so laidback you can’t face cooking any more? Head over to the site’s food truck, which serves up easy meals that you can eat at the picnic tables overlooking the sea – a memorable dinner spot indeed.

Local attractions
Staying right there by the beach means you may well find a couple of days slipping by as you simply stroll out onto the sand, take a dip, read a book, have a snooze… It’s a long beach, so you can have a bit of a walk to stretch your legs if you like – or perhaps load up with water and snacks for the trip to the scenic and atmospheric Cape Emine headland. You can walk there in a couple of hours, or drive down in about 20 minutes.
For other ways to see some of the scenery, book a quad biking tour from Quad Safari Kosharitsa (35 minutes’ drive), or take a boat trip from Sveti Vlas (half an hour) – you can either hire your own boat or join a group cruise. You may also like to take a wander through the cobbled streets of historic seaside town Nessebar (45 minutes).
Want to squeeze in a bit more action? Head to lively Sunny Beach (half an hour), which has a long list of watersports to try, plus a karting track, amusement parks, and waterslides to zoom down at Action Aquapark.
