Just arrived in the Ardennes? Settle down at Ardenne Camping, a fab family-friendly site located in a peaceful riverside location, and you should soon feel right at home. The site's large pitches are spaced out in a green environment that's just right for families, couples and kids coming here in search of peace and quiet. Ardenne Camping's facilities are well maintained and will allow you to feel settled in no time, with handy amenities including a well-kept play area for younger guests and a modern bathroom block with disabled access. This laidback site allows dogs to come and join you (please keep them on leads though), and barbecues are welcome if you fancy a little outdoor cook-out. Ardenne Camping is also within easy walking distance of a very pleasant riverside beach on the Ourthe river – showers, barbecues and a café are all available here, so it’s a great place to spend an afternoon. While it's surrounded by nature (including an on-site orchard full of local fruit trees), this handy little campsite is only a five-minute drive from the pretty little village of La Roche-en-Ardenne, a historic hotspot with a castle, attractive waterfront and handy amenities like supermarkets, restaurants and a tourist information centre.

  • The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.
  • Group bookings of 2 or more units (e.g. tent, touring caravan, motorhome or accommodation hire) travelling together are not permitted via Pitchup.com.
  • Group bookings of 5 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).
  • No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
  • Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.
  • The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.
  • Reception is unmanned after 5 p.m.. Please inform the site while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time, so that the team can provide information about your unit/pitch.
  • At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.
  • This is a quiet site: no music is allowed.

Liked Super schöner Stellplatz direkt am Fluss,sehr idyllisch und mitten in der Natur. Wer Ruhe und Natur liebt ist hier genau richtig. Waschräume sind sehr schön,duschen haben ordentlich Wasserdruck,es gibt die Möglichkeit seine Dreckwäsche zu waschen und wandern zu gehen

Disliked Leider war die Rezeption nicht besetzt,dadurch haben andere Camper Laute Musik angehabt und diese schöne Idylle gestört. Ein Platzwart wäre da super gewesen. Zumal auch in der Hausordnung des Platzes steht,dass Laute Musik und störendes verhalten untersagt ist.

Liked Fantastic site, great setting by the river with hedged off large pitches that have views of the surrounding forest and the sound of the river if you have one at that side. Controlled access by automatic barriers and a slow drive along well kept one way circular access path. Pitches were in excellent condition, level, thickly grassed with electric point. The toilets and showers are the best I have ever visited on a site, very new and spotlessly clean, as good as hotel facilities. Busy at the weekend but plenty room between pitches so we never felt cramped. Food and drink in nearby towns so you need a car but easy drives. Superfast WiFi for free, what a bonus.

Liked Everything, beautiful spot, right by the river, spacious pitches, good facilities, helpful staff. Nearby town is very scenic and there’s a tiny village with a beach by the river next door to the campsite. Very quiet and peaceful.

Local attractions

Staying in the local area, you could saunter around pretty streets lined with historic stone houses in the hamlet of Borzée (10 minutes' drive) before taking the kids to peek at the wild species on show at Parc à Gibier de La Roche (10 minutes), a mini zoo dedicated to game. For cuddly encounters, there's also La p'tite Ferme Balthazard (15 minutes), a farm park where city kids can get up to speed with rural life. For riverside walks or watersports, make your way towards the Barrage de Nisramont (15 minutes), an impressive dam surrounded by greenery where all sorts of aquatic activities can be arranged. If you'd rather stick to dry land instead, a serene stroll around Parc Chlorophylle (25 minutes) may be the answer – this forest park has some brilliant trails and a great adventure playground for younger visitors.
