  • Family-run site with 11 acres of space in rural Pembrokeshire
  • A 10-minute walk to Wild Lakes Wales; Folly Farm 10 minutes' drive
  • Play area, games room and honesty shop on site; dogs welcome
Wakeboarding, sandy beach days, go-karting, adventure golf, woodland walks… the list of possible activities surrounding Oakfields Holiday Accommodation goes on and on. This family-run Pembrokeshire site is in a particularly fine spot that’s fairly central within the county and about 15 minutes’ drive from the beaches of Saundersfoot. There are 11 acres of land at this site so there’s plenty of space for all guests – families, groups, couples and solo travellers alike. It’s all nicely laidback as well, with dogs welcome and a play area and games room provided for the kids. Practicalities are well sorted too: the site has an honesty shop, a shared freezer, a chemical disposal point and a washing-up area as well as a water point and a bathroom block with three toilets and two showers. What’s close by is equally enticing – there’s a pub about 10 minutes’ walk away for easy meals and a few drinks, and dog owners can stroll with their buddies to Canaston Wood (about half an hour away). Watersports may well be on the agenda too, as Wild Lakes Wales is only 10 minutes’ walk away – it’s got a bouldering wall and a popular restaurant as well as the main wakeboarding and aqua park activities.

What customers say

This family campsite offers lekker, spacious pitches & a chilled vibe. Owners are tops, animals are a hit, and kids' facilities (games room, play area, soccer pitch) are extensive. Great base for exploring. Most reviews rave, though a few note toilet/shower numbers & warm water for washing up could be better, but improvements are coming.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Took my kids here for a quick getaway and we had a lush time.

Liked :
- animals were friendly and the kids enjoyed petting them. My daughter loved the cats especially.
- the games room was lots of fun. We spent the evening playing pool, darts, ping pong, table football etc
- the park was lovely, lots of kids enjoying. The football area was great too.
- facilities were kept clean and tidy
- the shop was well stocked for any forgotten bits.

Disliked The toilets and showers felt like they lacked a bit of privacy with them being so close to the games room. But soon got used to it.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The laid back atmosphere. The children liked the games room and the pitches were a decent size.

Disliked There were not enough toilets or showers for the number of people on the camp site when we visited but I believe they are planning to address this.

From the manager: We’re very sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay, unfortunately our new shower/toilet block which was due to be completed in time for the summer holidays has had a few set backs and we’re very much hoping it will be ready for this weekend.

Beehive bell tent (five person)

Liked Great site for family's. Area is well looked after and all facilities are close. Our 3 children loved the openness and freedom. And everyone respected the quiet times on camp. Bathrooms and showers were kept clean and tidy, there was always someone there cleaning and restocking which was good as the site was quiet busy with family's. Tenby was less then 20mins drive away. So was nice to come back to a quiet location after busy days. The kids made lots of friends while on site and played for hours, even though they are all different ages. We had everything we needed the the Bee hive clamping tent, and loved it was sectioned off so our two dogs had lots of space to run around without getting lost on site. The Snooty Foz is only 2 mins away, and honestly the best home made food we have had in a pub for years.

Liked Everything!!
So much for the kids to do - especially handy in the evenings at the moment when campfires are banned.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Absolutely brilliant site, really accommodating. Kids loved the freedom running around, playing football, the play area, the games area and the walk around the animals. They have a few friendly cats that came for a stroke which was nice. Will definitely stay for longer next time!!

Disliked Shower and toilet area needs updating a bit but is kept clean and tidy.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked I can’t recommend this campsite enough. The pitch sizes were generous, I loved that the pitches were all mown in to the long grass. It was great having the playground right in the centre of the field, gave the children so much freedom and it’s a good playground in comparison to other sites I’ve been to too. The indoor games room / barn was such a lovely touch.

The atmosphere amongst the campers was lovely, it felt safe and there weren’t any noise problems late on, the owners were conscious of anything that might disturb people too. The owners were lovely, really friendly and helpful. The shop was great, had just what you needed plus treats. There was a freezer for freezing ice blocks but also a fridge which was handy for us in non-electric pitches. Toilets and showers were clean and hot.

We loved the animals, there were 3 farm cats that roamed and would happily curl up in our lap whilst we played games. There was a free roaming goat who we would see from time to time too. The icing on the cake was the meet and greet that the owner did with their other farm animals where the children could meet the donkeys, alpaca’s, sheep and goats and feed them.

It’s in a great location for exploring, Narbeth was lovely and only 15 mins away. Aside from the main places would recommend Saundersfoot and Barafundle Bay. We also went to the Wild Lakes Wales which is a 10 min walk from the campsite and did the wakeboarding which was fab. All in all a fantastic week and we were gutted to leave. Thank you!

Disliked The only area I can think of for improvements would be some shelves near the sinks and in the shower area to put your things.

Local attractions

Having Wild Lakes Wales just up the road is a great thing, but that’s far from the only option around here for active types. There’s also plenty to choose from at Heatherton World of Activities (15 minutes’ drive), including ziplining, archery and zorbing, or you can go pony trekking in the Preseli Hills (40 minutes). If the weather’s not so good, get some speed up with the indoor karting at West Wales Karting (20 minutes) or leap about at Hangar 5 trampoline park (25 minutes). For gentler family-friendly days out, look to places like Clerkenhill Adventure Farm & Frizbee Golf Course (10 minutes), Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (10 minutes) or The Dinosaur Park Tenby (15 minutes), all with plenty of fun for the youngsters. Alternatively, get a heritage fix at Carew Castle (10 minutes) or Pembroke Castle (20 minutes). And of course some time at the coast has to be on the cards, whether you fancy a long walk on the Wales Coast Path or a day at the beach – Saundersfoot (15 minutes) and Tenby both have fabulous sandy beaches, or you could try wilder spots like Manorbier (25 minutes) and Barafundle Bay (half an hour).
