  • Quiet, well-kept campsite 15 minutes’ drive from Tenby, Pembrokeshire
  • Manorbier Beach and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path five minutes’ drive
  • Spacious grass pitches; three theme parks within 25 minutes’ drive
Space and peace are the watchwords at Calvesland Camping, a pop-up site 15 minutes’ drive from Tenby and also on the outskirts of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park (10 minutes). There are just a few pitches on a very large, level camping meadow, which looks towards the coast and gives all guests plenty of room to spread out while still staying nice and private. Simple facilities include compost loos, showers and a washing-up sink. Barbecues are provided if you feel like rustling up an alfresco feast, and alternatively you have the choice of all the pubs, restaurants and cafés in Tenby. This is also a top spot for families with bags of day-trip options; you can pack buckets and spades and head for Manorbier Beach (five minutes), or strike out along the gorgeous clifftop landscapes of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path (five minutes). Otherwise, treat the kids to the fairground rides at Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (20 minutes), and furry encounters with alpacas and cute Valais Blacknose sheep at Manor House Leisure Park (15 minutes). Teens may prefer to head to Oakwood Theme Park (25 minutes) to scare themselves on fast-paced rollercoasters.

What customers say

Calvesland Camping: Beautiful, neat site with great views. Campers loved the friendly hosts, clean facilities (warm showers, compost loos), and prime location near coastal paths & beaches. Peaceful, with good walking access. Minor issues like faulty tent lights noted, but generally super positive.

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked Jack was very friendly. He brought toilet rolls and emptied the eco toilet regularly. Quiet location not far from Swan lake bay which is secluded and not accessible by car.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Everything was great at Calvesland camping. Lovely and chilled :)
Communication from the owners was great from the start and nothing was too much trouble-really nice, friendly and helpful!
Toilet/shower/was up areas were mega clean and tidy.
Would definitely recommend.
Good access to coastal path and a Lovely, quiet beach within walking distance.
Close to Manorbier.

Disliked I suppose you could hear the traffic and cyclists but for me, the pros out way the cons, tenfold :)

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely open field, great space.
Excellent shower with unlimited supply of hot water. Great washing up facilities.
Suitably close to the coast path, and all the attendant beaches: Freshwater East is easily walkable.

Disliked Close to the main road (an A road, but honestly very little traffic at night; a good number of cyclists in the mornings).

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Absolutely beautiful campsite, with gorgeous views of the sunset and a local beach, only a 15 minute walk away. It is very close to Manobier Bay, where we did surfing and swam in the sea. The stars in this area were the best I’ve ever seen due to little to no light pollution- we managed to see the Perseid comets! Jack and his family were so accommodating, they were really understanding when we were delayed on our way up from London and arrived at 11 pm. The facilities in the campsite are amazing – the compost toilet is well maintained and the shower felt more luxury than the shower I have at home. Had full mobile service which meant we could stream a film at night via hotspot too. If we lived closer, we would try and spend every weekend here. Unfortunately, I will have to wait until October half term, but we look forward to our stay here!
