Peaceful evening at pumllog

  • Back-to-basics camping with Snowdonia views on the Isle of Anglesey
  • Rhosneigr, Aberffraw and Trearddur Bay beaches within 20 mins' drive
  • Flat pitches with room for kids to play; close to shops and pubs
Set in 16 acres of arable farmland on the north-west side of Anglesey, Pumllog Farm Campsite is a peaceful spot that may feel remote – but is actually only a 15-minute drive over the Britannia Bridge and down the A55 from mainland Wales. Turn up, pick your pitch (please keep a distance from other guests) on the flat, spacious camping field and then sit back to enjoy the spectacular views across to peaks in the Snowdonia National Park (40 minutes). This is an ideal base if you’re planning a bucket-and-spade break with the kids – the sandy expanses of Trearddur Bay and Rhosneigr beach (also a good one if you’d like to test your windsurfing skills) are within a 20-minute drive. Aberffraw (15 minutes) and Newborough Forest (30 minutes) beaches both have undulating sand dunes for kids to run around on – and keep your eyes peeled at Newborough for elusive red squirrels. If you’d rather just flop into your camping chair and chill, well, that’s fine as Pumllog is full of wildlife. Birds of prey visit the fields along with pheasants, partridges and lots of rabbits. Bring a torch and you may even spot Mr Fox on his nocturnal ramblings. This is almost-wild camping, remember, so facilities are basic, but you'll have access to a portacabin with hot showers and toilets, all powered by gas and solar. Barbecues and off-ground firepits are permitted; you can pick up supplies at the local shop or stop for a beer and meal in the local pub. Llangefni (15 minutes' drive) is a handy nearby town for more extensive stocking up and eating out.

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked We were made to feel very welcome by Norma who been very accomodating from the outset by email, having booked initially for 1 night, but changed our mind prior to our holiday and we requested a second night, which was no trouble. We arrived in windy weather and Norma suggested we moved our van nearer the hedge line as it provided shelter, Norma even offered to find us a windbreak if we needed it. We found the facilities clean and the showers beautifully hot. The pitches are level and the grass well maintained and short. We particularly enjoyed watching the baby rabbits appear from the hedge line. The campsite is also really well located for exploring Anglesey.

Disliked Nothing

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are pleased you both enjoyed your stay here at Pumllog Farm Campsite. The baby rabbits were quite happy to have you pitched near their burrow.
Hope you will both visit us again sometime.
Norma 😊

Liked friendly owner quiet well run camp in great place

From the manager: Thank you for your kind review. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you. What a gutsy lady you were, staying with us at Pumllog for 7 nights and travelling around the beautiful Isle of Anglesey by public transport and by foot, everyday. Always greeting me with a smile and a chat about your days adventures. Look forward to seeing you again, Norma. 😊

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Nice grass, good location, allow off ground fires, running water.

Disliked Lights didn’t work in bathroom, showers open late in the morning and closed earlier then liked. Not enough showers or toilets for the size of the site.

From the manager: Daniel I'm so sorry you never enjoyed your stay with us at Pumllog.
The light in the 1st toilet broke during Friday. I put a sign on the door explaining no light and also told as many campers as possible there was a problem and to take a torch. As it wasn't just a case of replacing the bulb, I put an order in with Amazon to replace the whole unit. This arrived by the Saturday afternoon. As soon as it arrived I replaced the light and all were working.
As people were arriving late, including yourselves, "arrival time being 9 pm", I never closed the showers until 11.15 pm. Normally the showers are closed by 10 pm. The showers were reopened by myself at 7.15 am. There is a sign in the toilet block with hour's of opening.
The field was far from full and the amount of toilets were ample for the amount of people onsite.
It would have been far kinder to air your grievances with myself, rather than put a bad review on. I am always here to help and talk about any issues.
Thanks Norma.
