  • Sea-view pitches on a private estate on the north coast of Anglesey
  • Five minutes’ drive to Porth Trwyn beach; Holyhead 20 minutes
  • Near the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path; half an hour's walk from pubs
Set in the woodland of a private 17th-century estate, Seren-y-Mor (meaning 'Star of the Sea') is a family-run campsite on the north coast of the Isle of Anglesey. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from the beach for family fun days and also close to the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path for coastal yomps. Bring your own barbecues, camping stoves and firepits (pick up groceries in Holyhead, 20 minutes’ drive). A couple of pubs are a half hour’s walk away if alfresco cooking isn’t how you want to spend your holiday. The pub and café in Church Bay should be some splendid picks for eating out – they're a five-minute drive away, or just over an hour's walk. Pop-up food stands also visit the site during high season. Seren-y-Mor is an eco campsite with composting toilets and hot showers.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: What a lovely place to camp, wide open green spaces, woods with interesting structures for the weddings they host. We met Nina who runs the site, she is friendly, smiley and happy to help with anything. They have a gorgeous dog, who loves you to throw sticks for him, very well behaved, and returns home with just a whistle.
We didn’t know what to expect with the compost toilets but they were lovely and clean, with simple instructions on the toilet door. We were very surprised that there was no smell in them either. Showers clean, nice and hot too. We really loved our stay here and if we camp in Anglesey again we will definitely camp there

Disliked: There was nothing we disliked

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked: An absolute hidden gem, the most wonderful location, super peaceful, and a spacious campsite meaning you're not hemmed in next to other campers - there's also a few spots where you can hide away to have a nice private camping spot.
The showers were really unexpected, some clever upcycling of old IBC's, we weren't expecting such great water pressure and to have them so warm, very luxurious!

This might be our favorite campsite ever!

Disliked: No hand soap around toilets

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi, Thank you so much for staying, sorry there was no hand soap, people usually bring there own, but I will pop some there. Im so confused by your rating as the site is immaculate, wild and rustic. We have just had two fully booked weekends, with happy lovely campers. My number is on the toilets and reception, and booking info, if you stay again and need anything at all please feel free to contact me xxxxx

Liked: Incredible site- the sunset over the campsite was beautiful!
So spacious and peaceful!
Nina and Bob were around to check in at points throughout the day and to say hello and answered any texts promptly when needed.
Such an amazing place for the price especially with the local walks and access to beaches.
Thank you so much for having us, we can’t wait to visit again in the future!

Route directions

Once you enter the estate, you will cross over two cattle grids. After crossing the second cattle grid, there is a left-hand turning marked 'CAMPING'. Follow the signs on the track through two fields. The final field is the camping field, where the toilets are directly ahead of you. Please pitch up in these fields along the hedge or the treeline, where it is sheltered, leaving eight metres between your pitch and other guests. What3words: clip.relief.abode.

Local attractions

You can learn all about Amlwch and its 18th-century transition from fishing village to copper mining town at the Copper Kingdom Centre (25 minutes’ drive). After checking out the displays, stroll along the colourful trails lacing Parys Mountain, which was once home to the world’s largest copper mine. Step into a tropical environment at Pili Palas Nature World (half an hour). Here you can marvel at butterflies and moths flying all around you in the butterfly house, watch meerkats being fed and meet colourful macaws and cockatoos. There are also exotic spiders and lizards, and (if creepy-crawlies aren’t your thing) fluffy rabbits and inquisitive miniature goats. Sitting on the Menai Strait, Plas Newydd House and Gardens (35 minutes) is an 18th-century mansion with gardens bursting with vibrant hydrangeas and rhododendrons. It’s worth popping inside too, to catch a glimpse of a gigantic mural (measuring 17.5 metres) by Rex Whistler depicting an idealised view from the building.
