  • Back-to-basics camping with stunning Rhinog Mountain views in Gwynedd
  • Harlech Beach half an hour’s drive; Llanfair Slate Caverns 35 minutes
  • In Eyri National Park, with hiking and biking straight from the site
If you’re looking for a wild camping experience in gorgeous North Wales – and one with spectacular Rhinog Mountain views to boot – Rhiw Goch Inn Campsite is the spot for you. This peaceful site covers 18 acres of hilly land, and you can camp wherever you choose, either in the fields or near the beautiful and sadly derelict namesake pub that is central to the property. Site facilities are simple – please note there are no loos or showers, but running water and waste areas are available. However, who really cares about lack of amenities when the site is set amid the mountains and valleys of Eryri National Park, and there are plenty of things to see and do within half an hour’s drive? You have the option of two beaches, mountain biking and hiking trails and the subterranean family attraction King Arthur’s Labyrinth, among many other local activities. And you can holiday at Rhiw Goch Inn Campsite knowing you’re doing some good. The money raised from the pitches goes to a very worthy cause: it is being reinvested into the restoration of the once-handsome Grade II-listed Rhiw Goch Inn and its reopening as an inn and restaurant.

Non-electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked This new site already had more facilities than when we booked. It now has fresh water, electricity posts, with grey/black disposal. The owner greeted us but is not always on site although he was easily contacted by phone. A peaceful spot with fabulous views.

Disliked Not too sure the sheep grazing around us helped with the droppings!

Lovely site, fab views, great location, forest walks, dog friendly,

Non-electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The views are breathtaking, and to wake up to the view every morning was amazing. Lots of wildlife about. You can pitch on the allocated pitches at the top or find somewhere near the old inn ruins. We chose a lush spot just by the inn on grass. Just water and cdp & recycling which suits us as hate commercialised sites. Peter the owner was lovely. Amazing walks from the site on hill paths and down to a beautiful forest with stunning views all round. We will definitely be back next year. And all the site fees go towards the re build of the Inn that was destroyed in a fire so all for a good cause. It’s dog friendly and just fantastic. It’s no frills and simple and just totally back to nature. It’s a work in progress & we wish Peter lots of luck in creating his campsite and all the plans he has for the Inn.

Disliked Nothing. We did have an issue that was not the fault of the site but some campers just rocked up at 1am and started setting up loudly so disturbed our sleep. So perhaps to say for the site to say no arrivals after 10pm would be good. Peter dealt with this matter though excellently with great communication and it didn’t spoil our stay or put us off staying again.

Amazing place to spend time with a Family. Beautiful landscapes & environment.…
