What customers say

A peaceful, tidy site with welcoming hosts and ample space. Good for North Wales/Cheshire exploration, close to amenities. Basic, clean facilities, but some find them dated and a bit tight during busy periods. A few had arrival access hiccups.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked This was our second visit to this site and the owner had even remembered and kept us the same pitch as we had mentioned we really liked that plot. The sites location is just perfect for us. Spacious pitches and peaceful surroundings. The facilities are basic but perfectly adequate.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked The field is lovely.

Disliked This is not a campsite for tents. There are no washing up facilities. There is only one toilet, sink and shower in the same hut, which is mouldy and dirty and never any toilet roll. The price is very high considering these issues.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked This was my favorite campsite of a month long tour. A simple place. Everyone was very friendly, a nice atmosphere, relaxed and quiet. The grass was perfect, kids lived playing on it and laying on it. Fresh farm eggs were lovely. Kevin the sheep was the star of the show. Highly recommend.

Disliked Having only one toilet was a bit awkward some mornings!

Local attractions

Being only a few miles from Chester (20 minutes’ drive) brings with it all sorts of excellent options for days out, including city walks around the cathedral and city walls (the oldest and most complete in Britain and then the chance to see it all in brightly coloured miniature at Chester in Lego. A little way outside the city centre are Chester Racecourse, Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks and the popular Chester Zoo. Back out in the countryside, there are plenty of great places for walks, including Alyn Waters Country Park (15 minutes) or Nercwys Forest (25 minutes), and some fun activities like axe throwing, paddleboarding and art workshops at Park in the Past (10 minutes). Rack and Ruin Alpacas (20 minutes) is another lovely local spot, offering the chance to take a woolly friend for a walk. The North Wales coast isn’t far off, either, so you might like to head over there for a day at the beach in Rhyl (40 minutes), stopping off at waterside Flint Castle (20 minutes) on the way.
