  • Peaceful countryside site within easy reach of Ceredigion coast
  • Less than 15 minutes’ walk to Cardigan Bay beaches, Wales Coast Path
  • Shop and playground on site; five-minute walk to bus stop
A warm west Wales welcome awaits at Wern Mill Caravan Park, a family-friendly site in the peaceful hamlet of Gilfachreda five minutes’ drive from New Quay. The site is well placed for adventurers and explorers: the long-distance Wales and Ceredigion coast paths can be joined within about 15 minutes’ stroll of base, and a bus stop five minutes’ walk along the road serves the scenic coastal towns and villages of this part of Wales, taking you all the way to Aberystwyth or Haverfordwest should you wish. Not that going that far will be an immediate priority… Start with a jaunt into New Quay for days spent sampling the wares (and seeing the busy buzzy workers) at New Quay Honey Farm, hours at sea with eyes peeled for dolphins, and fish and chips by the pretty harbour. Or get bucket and spades at the ready and take the 10-minute amble down to Cei Bach beach for days on the sands. When setting foot any further than absolutely necessary just won’t do, settle in on site instead for a stroll by the stream, a bit of family time at the playground, or idle times using the free wifi across the park too. A small shop is on site for essentials, and there is an outdoor eating area too.

What customers say

Immaculate, well-kept family site with friendly, helpful owners. A short walk to a lovely sandy beach, offering great modern facilities like spacious showers & a popular dog wash. Bar & shop on-site. Wi-Fi can be spotty, some road noise, but guests love it and many want to return.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked A little peaceful haven so close to a beautiful sandy beach. A small site but with lovely amenities, not known a shower unit that large on a site before! Great little shop for the necessities like wine, ice cream and bacon! Even had doggy ice cream for the pups. A small pub on site, but only open when demand allows so we missed this. The hosts are 100% perfect and help in every way possible - they did everything to make our stay wonderful. A 15 minute walk down the lanes and through some woodland gives you the most luscious sandy dog-friendly beach. Even when tide was in we could discover the opposite side, making the most precious memories. The dogs absolutely loved it! Really good free wi fi on site too. Hosts even offer a shuttle to New Quay down the road for a tiny £1 donation and offer TV dongles to help you get signal!

VIP electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Beautiful clean, well maintained site.
Fab showers, and overall facilities. Can get few bits in the reception, bread , milk etc , but not a massive stock , loved the dog wash facilities especially after the beach for the pooch.
Great walk across the beach to New Quay bay, road walk back if tide was in, coastal path too.
Overall brilliant.

Disliked Not a dislike but just to make aware , no local shop walking distance , that we saw anyway or local pub , may be wrong . So be sure you pack well .

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Beautiful clean site with well proportioned pitches. Sent details of pitch before arrival so able to pitch straight up. Hairdryers & straighteners in the ladies block were a welcome touch. Would definitely stay here again!

Disliked Less than 5 seconds water allowance in the shower so literally had to shower one handed

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Liked the pitch, bar, staff very friendly. Shower and toilets very clean.
Beaches in easy walking distance and when the tide was out we walked into New Quay which was lovely and had plenty of places to eat and drink. The site offers a lift service to and from New Quay which we used to get back to the site from New with the site owner. Excellent!!

Liked Great Park, great area, lovely walks for me and the dogs

Disliked I wasn’t prepared for the pegs in the hard ground - I had the right pegs but not the claw hammer - the rubber mallet was no good 🙈 thankfully someone helped me from the porch opposite 🙏

Local attractions

Did someone say beach? It’s likely they did, as there are two gorgeous little numbers a short stroll away – take your pick from Cei Bach (10 minutes’ walk) or Traeth Gwyn (15 minutes). Linking the two (and the whole of the rest of the Welsh coastline) is the Wales Coast Path, where you can walk for miles and miles (and miles and miles) with the sea in sight. If the waves are beckoning you closer, cart your surfboard off to the beaches at Aberarth or south of New Quay or head to the watersports centre in New Quay for kit hire and lessons in paddleboarding, kayaking, windsurfing and the like. Head to the harbour here or in Cardigan (half an hour’s drive) for boat trips and, hopefully, glimpses of dolphins. There are plenty of options back on dry land, too: take a walk around the 18th-century mansion at Llanerchaeron (20 minutes), putter along the Teifi Valley Railway (25 minutes) or see the cosy exhibits at the National Wool Museum (25 minutes). If your Wales stay isn’t complete without a castle or two, trips to the towers of Cilgerran or Cardigan (both half an hour) must be on the cards…
