What customers say
This quiet, rural site has a chilled vibe, friendly hosts & clean facilities. Reviewers love the big pitches, great views & nearby horses. Despite a few comments on limited loos & occasional lukewarm wash-up water, it's a top spot for short breaks & peace.

Good value

Liked Peaceful, and easy to find and very handy for one night stop over.
Basic facilities, but clean and working.
Disliked The walk to local town was along a busy road- with no footpath, so not really suitable for an evening stroll.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review, we’re really glad you found the site peaceful, easy to find, and ideal for a stopover, and that the facilities were clean and working well.
We do appreciate your feedback regarding the walk into the local town. As a rural farm site, some of the surrounding roads unfortunately don’t have footpaths, which can make them less suitable for walking, particularly in the evenings. We always recommend guests take care if heading out on foot, or alternatively use a car or taxi for trips into town.
Thanks again for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back in the future.

Ok for a 1 night stop
Non-electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked Easy to find. Fairly level pitch.
Disliked No meet & greet , left to find toilet/ shower in the dark.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for your review, and I’m glad you found the site easy to find with a fairly level pitch.
We were happy to accommodate your later arrival, however we don't offer a meet & greet late at night after our latest check-in time. All of the information you needed, including directions to the toilet and shower, is included in the welcome email sent prior to arrival. As we are a very small site, the facilities are all within easy reach with signage.
You also received a welcome text on arrival with my number, inviting you to call anytime if you needed help or had any questions, I’m always more than happy to assist.
Most of our guests really appreciate the flexibility of later arrivals and self check-in, but I’m sorry this didn’t suit your stay on this occasion.
For context for future guests reading reviews, we do note that this reviewer has left similarly low scores for a number of other sites, which may suggest expectations that differ from what smaller, self check-in sites like ours are designed to offer.
We wish you all the best in finding a site that better suits your preferences.
Regards
Lauren & Aaron
Simple, clean, good shower, quiet, dark sky.

Liked Simple, clean, good shower, quiet, dark sky.
Interesting things to see and do, if you look for them in the local area.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, we’re really pleased you enjoyed the peace and quiet, dark skies, and found the facilities clean with a good shower. It’s great to hear you also found things to see and do locally.
Regarding the sink, unfortunately we did experience pipes freezing and bursting during the colder weather, which is one of the challenges of keeping facilities open throughout winter. We do our best to keep everything available for guests when many sites choose to close, and we appreciate your understanding with that.
I’m pleased to confirm the sink water supply has now been fully fixed.
Thanks again for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back in the future.

Great little site, no frills
Non-electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked Remote location. Great views
Disliked Limited shower facilities. No electric. Water frozen in morning
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for your review. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed our quiet, remote location and the views.
However, we do clearly advertise the site as a small non-electric Aire, so we’re a little unsure why electric was expected during your stay.
With regards to the water freezing, during winter months when temperatures drop below freezing, pipes can unfortunately freeze overnight. This is something that can happen on many rural sites and is unfortunately outside of our control.
Thank you again for visiting.
Best regards

peaceful site and good value for money
Non-electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked Handy for one night on our way to Ferry Terminal in Troon. Also close to a big Tesco to stock up. Peaceful site surrounded by fields and near woodland.
Only one shower but it's a small site and there was only one other camper there when we stayed so this wasn't an issue. Clean facilities and the shower was lovely and hot.
Disliked Nothing

We’re also glad you found the nearby amenities useful for stocking up before your journey.

Nice peaceful site.

Liked Great campsite, quite small and really relaxed and peaceful location. Owners were really friendly.
Disliked Signage at entrance was a little tricky to find and is only visible when travelling in one direction.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review, we’re really pleased you enjoyed the peaceful, relaxed atmosphere and found us friendly and welcoming.
Thank you as well for your feedback on the entrance signage. We do send detailed directions in advance, including a What3Words location and a Google Maps pin, which are usually very accurate in guiding guests straight to us. That said, we appreciate your comment and will take it on board as we’re always looking to improve the arrival experience.
Thanks again for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back in the future.

Lovely stopover
Non-electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked Very peaceful and spacious site in a lovely rural location. Dog friendly. Loved watching the horses
Helpful and friendly owners
Good to borrow a fire pit and be able to buy logs etc
Disliked Tricky dog walk not for the less agile, access via wobbly stepping stones, no path to follow, but dogs enjoyed a run round off the lead

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review, we’re really pleased you enjoyed the peaceful, spacious setting, the rural location, and being able to watch the horses. It’s also great to hear you found us helpful and friendly, and made use of the fire pit and logs, that’s exactly what we love guests to enjoy.
Thank you as well for your feedback regarding the dog walk. We do have stepping stones over the stream, and the surrounding woodlands are unpathed, making them ideal for guests who want to let their dogs off lead and explore freely. That said, as you’ve highlighted, the terrain can be uneven in places. We always recommend wearing wellies or walking boots (and trousers), as even in summer the woodland can remain wet underfoot.
We really appreciate your thoughtful feedback and hope to welcome you back again soon.
