Touring rural County Cork? Park up at Ballinadee Bus Campervan Park, conveniently located 40 minutes’ drive from lively Cork and 15 minutes from seaside Kinsale – the foodie capital of Ireland – and with easy access to the start of the Wild Atlantic Way coastal route (also 15 minutes). Facilities certainly come brightly coloured, with a modern shower block covered in street art tucked between the farm sheds and organic polytunnel. There’s also a really cool, cosy and inviting open-top double decker bus to chill out in, where you can share a picnic, read a good book or have a snooze. The site just happens to be right next door to the Ballinadee Bus Rescue Farm, a peaceful haven for formerly neglected ponies, alpacas and other assorted furry and feathered friends. You can pop in any time it’s open to meet the animals and grab a caffeine fix from the coffee truck, which serves hot and cold drinks as well as delicious cakes and pastries, while the kids enjoy the indoor and outdoor play areas.

Non-electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Very charmingly quirky campsite attached to an animal rescue. Showers and toilets were clean which is a must. The array of animals were adorable from the alpaca with the wonky leg to the very friendly goats. Wifi available although we never used it.

Disliked The only slight issue was that there was a group there same night as us who partied on until well after midnight. We also felt that the pitches were a wee bit too close together.
