What customers say

A peaceful, spacious site with great views and clean facilities. Guests enjoyed the quiet vibe and short walk to pubs. Well-organised with easy access for a relaxed time. Some found the open field exposed to weather.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Plenty space in huge grass field. Mobile ‘festival style’ toilets and showers which were modern and well kept. 10-15 min walk into Hindon pubs. Plenty walks nearby for dogs.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Lovely places with some nice views when pitching higher up in the field. Not too big and not too small. And not overcrowded even on a busy weekend. Close to the picturesque village Hinton with 2 nice pubs, only a short walk. The facilities are two trailers. One with 4 toilets and one with 4 showers. Which was a good amount for the size of the campsite. I really liked that the showers room had a little sink, a stool and a mirror and enough hooks for all your things.
We had a great time.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Only stayed one night stop over on bank holiday weekend so it was busy. Large field plenty of space and water points. Quiet location easy access to A303.

Disliked A slightly sloping site. A nice block of temporary toilet/showers, plus the individual porta loos which were clean but not so inviting.

Local attractions

Whether you’re taking the dog for a wander or sloping off for a well-earned pint in the pub you’ve come to the right place for country walks – there are oodles of paths to pick from in the local area. If you'd rather pedal, have a chat with the folk at local outfit Cranks and Planks for e-bike hire. For a rather grander backdrop to your rambles, aim for the gorgeous gardens at Stourhead (15 minutes’ drive) or the lakeside Old Wardour Castle (20 minutes) – this latter is in a ruined state but still intact enough for youngsters to play at being knights. Surely no visit to this area would be complete without stopping by at Stonehenge (20 minutes) to see the ancient circle up close, and taking a stroll around Salisbury (half an hour) to explore its market and gaze up at the cathedral’s 123-metre spire. A full day out should certainly be planned at Longleat (20 minutes) as well – alongside the drive-through safaris are friendly farm animals, a mini railway to ride on, a castle-themed playground and one of the biggest hedge mazes in the world (plus a very smart house with formal gardens and art collection, if that’s more your thing…)
