If you’ve ever dreamed of having a sizeable patch of countryside all to yourself, here’s your chance – Meadow Farm has just the one yurt-style tent in the paddock alongside its farmhouse. That means you’ll have the entire field just for your group (although you may spot visitors like roe deer, muntjac, foxes, hares and pheasants from time to time…) It’s all about peace and quiet here – the farm is about half a mile from the nearest public road and your yurt is surrounded by grass pretty much as far as the eye can see. Your views over the Wiltshire countryside also take in the ridgeway at Broad Town, the location of a white horse carved into the hillside. Along with those green views come a commitment to green facilities on site – including eco-friendly solar panels that produce the electricity for the farm and the yurt. It’s a spacious setup in the yurt – it’s easily large enough to stand up in, and contains a proper double bed (made up ready for your arrival). Tea and coffee making facilities are provided, with a firepit outside and a barbecue available on request. Just next to the yurt is a converted cargo container that’s been kitted out with bathroom facilities (including an eco-friendly compost toilet) for your exclusive use. Although bed linen is provided, you’ll need to bring your own towels and toiletries, along with whatever food you’d like to cook on the barbecue. The nearest place for supplies (or meals out) is Royal Wootton Bassett, about a mile and a half away.

Liked: What a great experience, we hadn’t stayed in a yurt before and wanted something different to do for a special weekend and we weren’t disappointed. The nearby facilities were a real bonus, a bathroom in a tanker and a tea/coffee area was very handy. The bed was comfortable and we even had a dressing table and mirror! We loved waking up in the morning and watching the wildlife in the fields with our binoculars. One evening we used the fire pit and sat out until late watching the moon and stars, very peaceful. Thank you to Robert and Benita for looking after us and for supplying sweets and biscuits.

Disliked: Can’t think of anything.

Liked: We stayed in the yurt for my friends birthday we wanted to stay under the stars and that's what we saw, the yurt was very spacious and clean and comfortable the bed was lovely to sleep in and the lights next to the bed really made it special. The host robert went above and beyond nothing was to much terrible really friendly man. The suprise we had was the added extra to our little night away which include, luxury coffee machine and teas, biscuits, chocolates and tollietries. Even got my friend a happy birthday balloon in the yurt for when we arrived. Would definitely be booking again and would highly recommend this to anyone. The shower is lovely and hot. Be lovely for kids to run around the fields hear all the animals. Very pieceful no traffic.

Disliked: No dislikes was amazing

Liked: We were really pleased with the location and set up we had on Meadow Farm. The hosts Robert and Bonita were so welcoming and friendly and showed us around the set up and where things were. The camping pod was beautiful and furnished to a high standard, the facilities were fantastic, included a beautiful walk in shower, with sink and compostable toilet all set in a wonderfully refurbished unit. Kettle and coffee machine provided with a variety of tea and coffee choices and biscuits. Attention to detail was amazing and it felt very luxury. The hosts had also placed a balloon in the pod as they knew we were away celebrating a birthday. Would highly recommend Meadow Farm, about 10 minute drive to Avebury which is a wonderful place in itself. Will definitely revisit Meadow Farm.

Disliked: There was nothing we disliked.

Liked: Beautiful views and extremely comfortable accommodation. We stayed in rain and quite high wind and were cosy and dry the whole time. Very relaxing stay. Will definitely come back in the sun! Nice to have facilities so close to the tent as well, and they are a high standard. Welcoming and helpful hosts.

Disliked: No dislikes but maybe some additional instructions for how to use things like coffee machine and facilities might be helpful in future? It's not impossible to work out though.

From the manager: We’re delighted you enjoyed your stay Hattie, especially given the stormy weather you had over the weekend! Some printed instructions are a good idea. Expect to see them next time you come.
