What customers say

Lovely riverside spot, great for a paddle. Staff are ace, pitches are big, and it's got a cool rustic vibe with fun showers and tea rooms. Brilliant for exploring, but a bit of road noise. Facilities are basic but clean; animals a hit with kids.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Space, choice of pitch when we arrived. Helpful staff, the overall area and distance from Bradford on Avon

Disliked Thought the facilities were adequate but needed updating although it looked there was work going on to do just that. Number of each facility was low for numbers of guests over the weekend

Cricket Ground - electric optional grass pitch

Liked Location next to river where you can enter from their river beach and swim safely.

Disliked Toilets were not great, too few for the amount of tents on site. Not cleaned enough. Same with showers. There are 2 blocks but 5 toilets doesn’t seem enough. Had a cream tea from the reception which was good. We were told it’s a no music site when we had the radio on low at 8pm, which was funny as we could barely hear it over the noise from screaming kids and families. We didn’t mind the camping noise but felt the music telling off was not reasonable. Very close to busy main road.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Nice big pitches next to the river. Enjoyed the cream tea. The breakfast box for £10 was good value. 6 rashes of thick bacon and 6 good sausages no water came out of them when cooked and 6 eggs. Toilets and showers were ok we have seen cleaner.

Disliked None

Local attractions

If you’d like to explore your immediate surroundings, you need only find one of the footpaths that runs from the site to places like Farleigh Hungerford Castle, Iford Manor Gardens or Westwood Manor. There are riverside walks galore around here too – either along the River Avon or by the Kennet and Avon Canal. A couple of the Avon’s top attractions are in fact its urban spaces – both Bradford-on-Avon (five minutes' drive) and Bath (20 minutes) are well worth visiting for their historic buildings. You may also like to take a trip to Frome (15 minutes). If you’ve brought the kids along on holiday, a trip to the safari park at Longleat (20 minutes) may well be on the cards; if that's a bit too big, consider booking a wolf experience at The Little Zoo (15 minutes) instead. For a more grown-up day out, perhaps you'd like to potter around Prior Park Landscape Garden (20 minutes).
