Longing for a break in the Blackdown Hills? Well, Sheep Shed Camping is a rather peaceful spot for a stay on the edge of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 40 minutes’ drive away from the Jurassic coast so that you may also go fossil-hunting or for a paddle down at the beach as you please too. Whisk things back to basics a little… there’s plenty of space to kick back here, as the large pitches are well spaced out across a three-acre meadow. This is a working family farm with 100 acres with views across Taunton Vale and the Quantock Hills – so you’ll be checking in for some really splendid rural scenery. You're welcome to bring along a firepit to keep you warm as you take in the views, but no fires to be set on the grass, thanks (and you'll need to use wood bought on site). On the outskirts of a small Somerset village, it’s rather peaceful too – but there are still two village pubs and a children’s playground within 15 minutes' walk of the site, Taunton town centre 15 minutes’ drive away and the nearest M5 junction is 15 minutes’ drive away, so you certainly won't be cut off. After somewhere to explore on foot? Handily, there are lots of local footpaths across the farmland and through the surrounding woodlands. You’ll also be able to get stuck into sheep trekking on site, where you can join the farm's friendly rare-breed sheep for a stroll around the fields.
