What customers say

Flowerdew Farm gets a thumbs-up for its friendly, eco-vibe. Clean facilities, a welcoming host, and charming farm animals (alpacas and goats!) are big draws. It's praised for its rural setting, with pubs and walks nearby. Downsides include limited loos when busy, occasional farm/road noise, and some pitches feeling a bit snug.

Non-electric grass campervan pitch

Liked Welcoming host, lovely intimate campsite with everything we needed close by. Composting loo was well kept and portaloos available also.
Loved the fairylights around the washing up area and cosy stable sitting room, made for a cosy feel.
Had a great time feeding and learning all about the Alpacas and goats. Would happily recommend as a quiet, off the beaten track farm stay.

Barry bell tent (four person, comfort)

Liked The Barry bell tent was as described, cosy and the beds were comfortable. The site is peaceful and is an excellent place to stay for exploring the Jurassic coast from. We valued the shared space in the rest rooms providing a sheltered space for eating, reading, games etc. compost toilet was well maintained and absolutely fine to use.

Bell tent (four person, basic)

Liked We had a really lovely time, Claire was very welcoming. Site felt very safe and clean. Lots of extra bit like kettle, indoor seating area and fridge which made our stay so much easy. And the little one enjoys the goat and alpaca so much, location it ideal and we where able to get to placed just a short drive. We will definitely be back soon

Disliked Not a dislike but would of been nice for bell tents to be spread over the field a bit more, only because when we stayed there wasn’t many other in the field but bell tents where all booked so we where all next to each other with so much space round the rest of the field.

Local attractions

Local walks start right at your pitch, or you can join the South West Coast Path at Hive Beach (five minutes’ drive) for some serious clifftop yomps with spectacular views along the Jurassic Coast clifftops. Get out for bracing walks along Chesil Beach from West Bexington, admire the colourful wild flowers backing Cogden beach (both five minutes), or go fossil-hunting in West Bay (10 minutes). If your kids (and indeed you) enjoyed making friends with the livestock at Flowerdew Farm, they’d probably also love to say ‘hi’ to the donkeys, reindeers and emus at Vurlands Animal Farm (five minutes). To watch turtles, sharks and rays flit around aquariums instead, head for Sea Life Centre Weymouth (half an hour). For town time, Weymouth (25 minutes) is a pretty Georgian-era seaside town packed with historic pubs and with a yachting harbour to stroll around; lively Bridport (10 minutes) is known for its seafood dining scene and antiques quarter, and Dorchester (20 minutes) is Dorset’s capital of culture, with lots of sights associated with the famed local-born author Thomas Hardy.
