What customers say

Highly recommended, peaceful, adults-only spot for exploring the Jurassic Coast. Spotless facilities, great staff, spacious pitches. Small shop & dog run are a bonus. Watch out for narrow lanes. Wi-Fi can be spotty, could do with more showers.

Buttercup electric grass pitch

Liked I love visiting West Dorset, and this campsite north of Bridport will now be my first choice. I wasn't sure when the directions said go to an industrial park, but actually the campsite is in a perfect location, quiet, spacious, excellent facilities, enclosed dog orchard, walks available directly from the site. Best of all was the useful on site shop with a friendly receptionist always ready to give advice. The local cider was a bonus!

From the manager: So good to hear we have become your first choice- we look forward to welcoming you again for another cider.

We obviously never try to hide the fact that the approach is through the business park but as you discovered it's not an unpleasant place to be and once you are on the campsite you soon forget the small business units are even there (apart from the shop of course!) Thank you for reassuring others on this.

Liked Pretty much everything. Very well equipped, organised and run. Thanks very much - we'll probably be back (which is unusual for us to return to a previous visited site)

Honeysuckle electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked A fantastic campsite with everything you need for an amazing camping experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and the showers and toilets are impeccably clean.

Disliked The communal area could be closer to the campsite itself, as Wi-Fi is only available in the communal area.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your kind review. We're really glad you enjoyed your stay.
Whilst we can't help the location of the shop in relation to the campsite we do have plans afoot for new seating areas and an improved wifi network for next year so hopefully this will go some way to meeting your suggestions.
We do hope you will come again.

Loved he site and all it had to offer. Really nice staff.

Clover electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked A fantastic place, has everything you need for a quiet relaxing break. Love The Orchard for the dogs, lovely having electric and water on the pitch, large area for each pitch. Showers and toilets cleaned rwgularly. Superb set up.

Disliked Would be nice to have a covered area where the seating is in case of inclement weather.
But nothing like law needed.

Honeysuckle electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Brilliant location for a couple of days of doing nothing.
The whole site was clean, tidy, and peaceful.
Staff were so friendly.
Lovely little closed in orchard to let the dog have a run and a play with fallen apples.

Disliked Only downside for us, was how close the pitches were, but this won't stop us from returning.

Clover electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked What an amazing place to stay. Fantastic friendly welcome. Facilities were immaculate. Close to many places to visit. Large pitches. The owners are so very helpful & understanding. We weren't happy in pitch 3 due to the neighbouring campers, so we enquired if we could move & without any problems we were moved to another private pitch, which was brilliant. We enjoyed our stay so much we booked an extra night. We will definitely be back to stay.

Disliked Absolutely nothing.

Foxglove electric grass pitch

Liked Location

Disliked Lack of showers and lavatory, could benefit ftom additional facilities including separate areas for hair drying etc.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are very fortunate with our location and do enjoy sharing it with our guests.
We have 4 showers and a total of 7 toilets and rarely have a queue for use of these. Thank you for your suggestions of a separate hair-drying area, we will certainly consider that in our thoughts for improvements for coming seasons.

Local attractions

Head to West Bay (15 minutes' drive) for a first glimpse of the world-famous coastline; you'll get even better views on a boat cruise round the cliffs, or try kayaking it yourself. Abbotsbury (half an hour) is a popular spot to start walking the shingle airstrip-cum-sandbar that forms famous Chesil Beach. Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre (25 minutes) has fine examples of the fossils found nearby, including the Sea Dragon (an icthyosaur, in fact) unearthed in 2016. It's also the starting point for guided fossil hunts and rockpool rambles... you could come home with an icthyosaur of your own... West Bay lies on the mighty 680-mile South West Coast Path, but fret not, you don't have to walk it all. A trip round to the old lookout point of Thorncombe Beacon makes a pleasant ramble, especially as there's a pub at the end, or you could drive to Stonebarrow Hill (25 minutes) and explore the Golden Cap, a clifftop wilderness populated by peregrine falcons and butterflies. For diehard townies, there's a market selling something (vinyl or vintage, antiques and organics) in Bridport (15 minutes) almost daily and elegant Lyme Regis (half an hour) looks like a film set, especially when the fog rolls in.
