Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked: Family run business, staff very friendly and helpful.
All facilities clean and well kept.
Very rural, no shops or pubs nearby but they do have a little shop onsite if you need anything.
A clubhouse is on site and they do offer food and drink at affordable prices.
Disliked: Could do with more shower facilities.
Only one shower available to use in the ladies as the other one was out of use. I’m sure this is only a temporary issue.
WiFi only available in the clubhouse not on your plot. This would be handy if you have a firestick so you can watch tv from your camper/caravan.

Electric grass tent pitch
Liked: Staff was very polite and pleasant. The pitch was level and good for the size and tent. The bar and pool table was nicely decorated and bathrooms was clean. The travel to Devon and Cornwall close by beaches wasn't to far out.
Disliked: No dislikes

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked: The toilet and shower facilities were lovely, always clean and really warm. A fairly powerful shower and hot water.
Even though the kitchen wasn't officially open when we arrived after a 5.5hr drive the lady in the kitchen cooked us some dirty fries and sausage and chips, that was really appreciated. Food was a reasonable price too. The owner was very nice and accommodating to help us out.
Disliked: The bar was VERY noisy and this continued until much later than advertised from the signs around the place. Lots of signage saying to be quiet after 10pm, bad language won't be tolerated, no kids in the play park after 9pm but none of this was enforced. I fully appreciate that the owners can't do much about people swearing on their way back to their tents etc but these seemed liked regulars.
Not being able to have a fire pit was also a downside and would have been nice, even if it was a communal one to sit around and enjoy.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked: Check in at reception straight forward and clearly numbered pitches that were easy to locate.
Spacious flat pitch with more than enough room for our large drive away awning.
Toilet /shower blocks basic but cleaned regularly with hot showers and large cubicles.
Laundrette onsite which I found convenient.
No issues with noise in the evening so slept well.
Ideal location to explore the area.
Disliked: Downside to toilet / shower block is that it is located at the rear of the clubhouse and also used by customers of the pub. A bit awkward walking past the customers outside drinking when you are heading for a shower. Also be prepared for your shower to be disturbed by screaming teenagers using the pub. Toilet paper run out on several occasions too so made sure to take our own just in case.
Clubhouse staff very friendly but overall didn't feel very welcoming due to a minority of customers which I can only presume are family or static caravan owners. Using the pool table was almost impossible and if you did get a change it was met with frostiness. A group of teenagers throwing cans and beer mats in the clubhouse one afternoon too which could be intimidating for some. After the second attempt, we didn't bother going again which was a shame.

Electric grass tent pitch
Liked: Nice pitches, sweet little park area for kids, nice food in the clubhouse, clean facilities.
Disliked: Extremely noisy. Children woken up by staff standing around outside the clubhouse after closing at approx 12/12.30pm talking and laughing extremely loudly with no attempt to be quiet.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked: It is a lovely well run family site. Nothing is to much for them, we were pointed to our pitch, someone came over later in the day to say hello and tell us what was going on over the weekend which is so nice. Very dog friendly and nice for the kiddies to run all day long, either in the park or the big games field. Food was traditional pub grub so a bonus for us, the Sunday roast was enjoyed by all.
Disliked: Electric cable wires weren't on the middle field, so those who needed them had wires running from the bottom/top to be able to get Electric (bit of a trip hazard for my little one)

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked: Friendly staff and clean facilities
Disliked: Booked into here last Dec but weather warnings meant we had to postpone our visit which they held a credit for.
On arrival there was a mix up with our planned pitch and we had to move to another pitch. Apparently the people on our pitch should have checked out but were still there???
Apparently people have been moving around a lot and the owners couldn't keep track of who was where.
All became clear as the night went on as the pitch we were given was (31) right under a bright lamp post which shone through our camper window ALL NIGHT. I assume the previous occupants moved to avoid a second sleepless night.
The facilities are generally clean and tidy and drinks are well priced in the bar. If I return I think we will be wise to this trick now as there is only one lamp post on the site and stay well away!!!

From the manager: Happy that you would stay again despite the pitch mixup. Feel free to mention the light if you book again. As you are aware, we are situated in open countryside, and therefore the nights are quite dark. Great for stargazing, but terrible for guests to find their way to the facilities in the dark.
Shocking. need to listen to reviews and not just listen to the good

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked: Errrr Honestly nothing. maybe the undercover little playground but even that was rough
Disliked: The fact you arrive pitch up says and the campsite says report to reception/shop.
It was closed.
Had to find someone in the clubhouse/bar that looked really rough and was treated by this very uninterested looking woman and this young lad. we followed the lad to our pitch to which had ran off before we could ask where everything was.
No communication of where the toilets, showers, wash area water was.
I had to go in the clubhouse again to ask where the toilet was! Bad vibes as i walk in and everyone just stares at you like your the odd chicken.
showers and toilets were attached to the bar area and not separate so people would be coming in all the time when you go for a shower so i decided not to rap as they didn't look the greatest anyway. the between the tiles didn't look inviting either.
The worst part.
The litrially put us very close to the clubhouse.
We have a young family. the music was booming and i mean booming till 12am when it says on their profile 8.30 till 10.30 no later! and that went on for 2nights!!!!!! you would think they would of put us further out there was another field not even being used!!!
one day it was raining and the kids were getting soaked in the undercover playground because the wind was blowing in so i thought you would of had some side protection aswell.
the washing area was shocking. the temp was so luke warm we struggled to clean our dishes. it's a push tap so the boiler would kick in for 2 seconds before it thinks it's turned off so hardly heated the water and it took forever.
the ground was not level. our tent flooded but luckily the weather was fine after that.
we were going to book a carvery at the restraint /clubhouse as we've heard good things but as every time i've been in i was stared at and felt uncomfortable and the place with its squeaky floors looked rough we went out to eat instead
didn't speak to a member of staff because the way they made me feel and it was just too much to go on about
nearly left the next day when we found out there would be booming music again. every time someone went outside it was worse. then people would play their music loud after it was over and then it woke my 2 year old so only ended up getting 2 h sleep!!!

From the manager: We are sorry that your experience at our Park was not the same as the majority of our other guests. The Easter Bank holiday weekend is a busy time for us, as we hold 3 days of Children's party events, both for the Children on site and those local to us. These, together with some other events, allow us to donate money to the local schools.
The reception was closed as staff were preparing for the first event of the holiday, but there is a sign that asks visitors to look in at the Clubhouse before pitching up.
There should have been an electric cable for you on your pitch and we apologise for that and
we do wish that you had spoken to us about your issues. If you were uncomfortable in the Bar, there is a number displayed on the reception door that you could have used,
The toilets and showers are cleaned twice a day and are regularly inspected. There is an entrace at the rear of the Clubhouse as well as access via the Bar area. The Bar does not open until 12 noon at the weekend and later during the week, so would only be used by our staying guests during that time. We also you have a disabled/family wet room and toilet in the same block.
The Clubhouse is a chalet style wooden building which has a lot of history which, we feel gives it character. it should be a welcoming retreat, and most of out guests find it so. Our Carvey is quite popular and we are sorry that you felt uncomfortable in that space. Being in open countryside, the site can have a "weathered" look about it at the start of the season.
The weather of late has been very wet and the ground has not had a chance to dry out. If you had let us know about the pitch we could have offered you another space. We do have an overflow field and would happily have moved you there.
Being Easter there was some live entertainment at the Clubhouse. Generally we do stop the music at 10:30pm, but Fridays and Saturdays we can close later. We do try to keep the doors and windows shut in the Bar to limit the sound outside. We were made aware the next day about some late night partying around the touring field, and we have spoken, quite strongly to the owners of those caravans about the need to respect other peoples right to expect a quiet night.
Whilst there are no sides on the Play Area, it does have a large roof that keeps most of the rain off. There is some protection from horizontal rain on two sides provided by hedges. Visitors with small children often ask to be close to the Play area so that they can keep an eye on their Children whilst they are there.
