Get off-grid at Blackawton Bell Tent… in a Devon meadow between Dartmouth and Totnes, you’ll have exclusive use of an eco-friendly bell tent with rather splendid views five miles from the coast – that includes Blackpool Sands and the South West Coast Path just 15 minutes’ drive away. There’s quite a bright set-up here, with bunting and a cosy double bed to sleep in, but it’s also eco-friendly. In a one and a half-acre meadow part of a copse, there’s no electricity and a composting toilet, so it’s good news for those of you who are quite green-fingered. You’ll also be able to get hands-on with your cooking, as there’s a field kitchen at your disposal, including kitchen utensils and cooking equipment. Other facilities include a hot-water shower, so you’ll be able to rinse off in comfort. You may want to take yourself on a local walk along a valley but if you’ve got food on your mind instead, the site is a 15 minutes’ walk away from the village of Blackawton, where there’s a great pub. Handily, the village has a small community shop too, so you’ll be able to keep your kitchen quite full.
