  • Family-run Devon site just off the main road two miles from Dartmouth
  • Blackpool Sands and Woodlands Family Theme Park within 10 mins' drive
  • Spacious dog-friendly pitches; bus stop just outside
Coast walks, beach days, outdoor adventures, family days out… whatever it is that brings you to this part of Devon, you’ll have a great base at Dartmouth Caravan Park. This family-friendly site (which also welcomes your family dogs) is part of a farm that’s surrounded by the stunning south Devon countryside and easily accessed from the main road to Dartmouth. The harbour town’s shops, activities, attractions and places to eat are a couple of miles away, and there’s a handy bus stop just outside the site for easy trips to town via public transport. Dartmouth itself has plenty of things to keep you busy, especially if you take a ferry across the river to explore all the things on the Kingswear side as well. It’s far from the only option for a day out though – in fact, this area is pretty packed with things to do, with huge sandy beaches, a theme park, a zoo and the huge expanse of Dartmoor National Park all within a half-hour drive. And that’s before you’ve even planned trips to nearby towns like Totnes and Salcombe or the fishing village of Brixham. That’s a lot to fit in, so it’s good to know that Dartmouth Caravan Park is comfortable enough to settle in for several days, with spacious pitches that have access to wifi and a dog park as well as a clean modern bathroom block with accessible facilities.

Electric optional grass and gravel pitch

Liked It’s a new site, I believe this year 2025.. All the bathroom facilities are lovely and brand new. The gravel and grass double pitches seem to be level and are generously sized. Nice soft loo paper too!
The free WiFi is solid and reliable, it looks like a star link system. The site is not huge, about 25 pitches I think. It is right next door to another site.
Has a black water service point, but not clear if that’s also the grey water as well. It’s a couple miles outside Dartmouth, so only a 10 minute drive. You pass a big Sainsbo and Lidl as you go into town.

Disliked Optional Electric fixed price seemed a bit on the expensive side. Would have preferred a metering option, as our usage is low but necessary.

Electric optional grass and gravel pitch

Liked We recently returned from a brilliant bank holiday stay, travelling as two families with a motorhome and a caravan. We were allocated pitches 14 and 15, which turned out to be perfect – spacious, flat, and ideally positioned with a grassy area in between where our young children could safely play. The pitches came with electric, water, and drainage, and were so level that we didn’t even need to use chocks.

This is a newly opened site, and it’s clear that the owners have put a lot of thought into its layout and amenities. Everything has been carefully planned to ensure a relaxed and enjoyable stay. The owners were on-site daily, incredibly friendly, and genuinely interested in feedback – it’s obvious they’re passionate about getting everything just right.

The whole site was immaculate, with a peaceful rural setting that overlooks open fields. The children especially loved the friendly cows in the neighbouring field, who were always curious and happy to come and say hello at the fence.

The standout feature has to be the shower block – without a doubt, the best we’ve ever seen on a site. It was scrupulously clean, well-equipped, and even stocked with high-quality toilet paper! The washing-up areas were equally spotless, with thoughtful touches like provided cloths and washing-up liquid.

Another huge bonus is the bus stop right outside the entrance. It’s incredibly convenient, with regular buses into Dartmouth in under 10 minutes, or in the opposite direction to Woodlands Theme Park – ideal for families.

WiFi was free and pretty good across the whole site!

All in all, we had an absolutely fantastic stay. This site is a real gem, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Highly recommended!

Disliked There is nothing we could say we disliked about this site.

In the future, as this new site grows, it might be nice to see a small play area for children, or even possibly just a dedicated field where they can kick a ball or throw a frisbee. There is a field set aside for dogs, so it would also be nice to see one for kiddies. There is a hose connected to a water tap outside the toilet block, but you do need to pull this across to the area where you empty your chemical toilet. Again, not necessarily a negative point but it would be good to site one closer for washing out chemical toilets at some point in the future.
