Love golf so much you’ve even wondered whether you could live on a golf course? Well now here’s your chance – at Newton St Cyres Golf Course, in the Devon countryside about 10 minutes’ drive from Crediton. Clearly pitching up right there on the green wouldn’t do at all, so the camping space has been set up in a separate open field, with plenty of space and some lovely rural views. It’s part of a pay and play golf course, so just bring along your kit if you’d like to play a round or few (possibly the most convenient round ever…) Not into golf? Not a problem. There are plenty of other things to do around here, including visits to Exeter (15 minutes’ drive), days out at local National Trust sites or walks at Dartmoor National Park (half an hour away). You can also get down to the south coast for beach days as the likes of Dawlish, Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton are all within 20 miles. You should be pretty well sorted for eats and drinks around here too: there’s a small licensed takeaway on site, and a gastropub about a mile away (which just happens to brew its own beer on site…) Crediton’s also got plenty of choice for places to eat and shop too – handy to know if you’re planning to bring a barbecue along. Facilities are pretty simple at this pop-up site, but you’ll have access to a toilet block and washing-up area. Dogs are allowed to join you, and there are plenty of places to take them for a walk.
