When it’s peaceful, adults-only waterside lodgings you’re dreaming of in Cornwall, Lynstone Lakes is five minutes’ drive south of Bude and may be just what you’re looking for. Accommodation on this leafy site is in handcrafted wooden cabins with uninterrupted views over a fishing lake and surrounded by six acres of countryside rich with wildlife. These cosy little hideaways work well for couples with an appetite for luxury. Each is cosily laid out and decorated to a high standard, with a kingsize bed, smart TV and armchairs in the living space, and oak dining table and chairs. Every cabin has a fully fitted kitchen and separate bathroom with all mod cons; they are all well-insulated and double glazed. Best of all, outside there’s a private fenced garden with a barbecue and firepit on decking overlooking the water. The lake is stocked with carp and tench, and fishing is offered exclusively to site guests. Bude town centre is five minutes’ drive/20 minutes’ walk away, and there are leaflets and guides in the cabins on local attractions, events and restaurants.
