The camping field
Rainbow over the farm
South downs sheep grazing in the field

  • Simple, peaceful grass pitches at a family farm in the South Downs
  • Just over half a mile from the South Downs Way by bridleway
  • Farm shop and firepit for barbecue cooking; 10 mins' drive to Arundel
The grass pitches at Cokes Farm are peaceful, rural and part of a family farm in the tiny hamlet of West Burton, in the southern stretch of the South Downs National Park. About 10 minutes’ drive away from Pulborough, you’ll be well away from traffic noise and street lights, and in a very good spot for walks and bike rides by day and stargazing by night (the South Downs are recognised as a dark sky park so the starry displays should be pretty good). Those walks/rides might just take you over to the village, or they might take you up onto the top of the Downs for views out towards Brighton and the Isle of Wight. For a closer look at the sea, you can reach the coast with a drive of about 20 minutes. The South Downs Way is just over half a mile's walk away along a bridleway. The facilities on site extend to a small shed with hot-water showers and a flushing toilet. One of the real highlights is the farm shop, which sells eggs, bacon, fruit and veg (along with detergents for the inevitable washing-up). A firepit is provided if you’d like to have a go at barbecue cooking. Anything you can’t buy on site should be available in the shops of the local towns – as well as Pulborough, Arundel, Petworth and Storrington are all within a 15-minute drive. There are plenty of eateries in those towns too, or you could head to the local pub, a 20-minute stroll away.

What customers say

Lovely, peaceful spot in stunning scenery with big pitches. Guests loved the super-friendly owners, well-stocked farm shop, and stargazing. Facilities clean, but a few wanted more loos/showers in busy periods. Great for a quiet, beautiful break.

They have a 24 hours little shop where you can buy some veggies, eggs and logs for the fireplace! there is also a small fridge and a freezer if people want to keep things cold.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked What a beautiful location and such friendly and accommodating hosts. Ken and Diana were so helpful, and catered for all our needs and forgotten tools.
We had a wonderful 4 nights enjoying the peace and beauty of their farm, nestled in the South Downs. Easy access to the A29, and loads to do close by, for adults, families and young children. Loads within a 20 minute drive of the campsite.

We were fortunate the site was not very busy while we were there, unsure how many pitches would constitute a full campsite, but one possible concern would be the facilities. The main facilities are two toilets and one shower, this was absolutely perfect while we were there, but if the field were full it might be more challenging. They do advertise an additional toilet and shower by the farm shop for when it is busy, that may be all that is needed.

Thank you again Ken and Diana for being so welcoming and so accommodating. We had a wonderful family camp for 2025.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Such a beautiful campsite, with stunning views. Plenty of space to yourself and very clean facilities. The little farm shop was a nice added touch along with the use of a fridge and freezer. My kids loved seeing the chickens, tractor and the endless supply of blackberries. We will definitely be going back.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Loved the space available and that you could pitch where you wanted to meaning we joined our adult children and grandchildren. Being able to have a campfire.

Disliked Only 2 toilets and 1 shower but we knew this in advance so were prepared.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Beautiful family friendly farm / small holding campsite!

Owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming.

Beautiful natural campsite with hot shower facilities, toilets and washing up. And even better, a fridge and freezer to use!

The little farm shop was lovely and had all the essentials and fresh produce. Even eggs which were free of charge as too small to sell or had broken shells. A lovely touch.

We would love to return and highly recommend this site!

Close to goodwood if you’re visiting for one of the racing events.

If you love nature and a quiet family friendly environment- this campsite will be for you :)

Check in was incredibly easy and so was check out, just drive in, say hi and pitch up! A smooth process which was handy as we were travelling in and out in a rush.

Thank you very much to the lovely owners!

Disliked Nothing at all! Site was perfect.
