Thriftwood Country Park is located in the rural village of Stansted with views of the surrounding North Downs, and is within easy reach of London. Set in 20 acres of peaceful woodland in the heart of the Kent countryside, this award-winning family park has a large touring area with an excellent choice of pitches.

We have hard and grass pitches with electric hookup, woodland walks, a licensed bar and a heated outdoor pool with a sun terrace to bask on. You’ll find the facilities at Thriftwood Country Park first class: we apply the highest standards of maintenance and cleanliness throughout.

Dogs and other pets are welcome. Thriftwood Country Park is open all year round.

Heading south via M25
Leave the M25 motorway at Junction 3. At the roundabout join the M20 (Junction 1). Leave the M20 at exit 2. At the roundabout take the first exit: A20 to West Kingsdown. After approximately 0.5 miles turn right into Labour In Vain road. The park is signposted and the entrance is on the right.

Heading south via A20
Leave the A20 at the M25/M20 intersection and follow A20 signs to Brands Hatch. After passing Brands Hatch continue through West Kingsdown passing under the motorway. Turn left into Labour In Vain road. The park is signposted and the entrance is on the right.

Heading east via M25/Gatwick
From the M25, stay in the right-hand lane and follow the signs for Maidstone/M20/Channel tunnel/Dover. Remain on the M26 for 8.5 miles and exit at Junction 2A. At the roundabout (Wrotham Heath), follow the A20 signs to Brands Hatch. Pass two roundabouts; continue on the A20 towards Brands Hatch. Travel up a steep hill, go over the roundabout at the top and followthe A20 towards Brands Hatch. After approximately 0.5 miles turn right into Labour In Vain road. The park is signposted and the entrance is on the right.

Heading north via M20 and A20 Wrotham Heath
Leave the M20 at J3 to (M26). After approximately one mile leave at Junction 2. At the roundabout (Wrotham Heath), follow the A20 signs to Brands Hatch. Pass two roundabouts; continue on the A20 towards Brands Hatch. Travel up a steep hill, go over the roundabout at the top and follow the A20 towards Brands Hatch. After approximately 0.5 miles turn right into Labour In Vain road. The park is signposted and the entrance is on the right.

Thriftwood is perfectly located for exploring Kent’s diverse andscape. The Garden of England has something for everyone: coastal beaches, countryside, medieval towns, historic castles, seaside resorts, international shopping, a thriving arts scene and a rich cultural history – Kent has more castles, stately homes and gardens open to the public than any other region in Britain.

The historic towns of Sevenoaks, Maidstone, Tonbridge and Royal Tonbridge Wells are all within easy driving distance, and it’s just a short journey to the renowned Bluewater and Lakeside shopping centres. For sports enthusiasts there is a wide choice of activities including the London Golf Club and the Brands Hatch motor racing circuit. And, of course, there is the great city of London with its world-class attractions.

Terms and conditions

Please read the park terms and conditions below and the Pitchup.com terms and conditions.

Check-out by 12pm.

Only one car per pitch is permitted. Additional cars must be parked in the visitors' car park.

The park and all its facilities are used entirely at your own risk. We will not accept liability in respect of any damage to person or property. This includes the laundry. Guests must ensure that their vehicle and personal insurance covers for third party liability whilst on the park.

We reserve the right to remove from the park persons behaving in a manner likely to cause a disturbance or damage to property.

We will try to accommodate all special requests.

Units must be pitched at the direction of the park staff. This is to ensure compliance with the site license and for safety and privacy reasons.

Visitors to your pitch are your responsibility and must check in at reception upon arrival. Visitors will be admitted to the park after paying the appropriate fees.

Electricity is supplied at 16 amps, 240V. This is suitable for low wattage appliances, not domestic appliances. We reserve the right to disconnect the supply at any time if required.

Pets are welcome on site but the owners are responsible for the behaviour of their animals. We do not allow on site any breed of dog listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. No animal is allowed to be loose on site and pets must be kept on leads no longer than 2m. Proprietary pet cages are only allowed within the confines of the unit including an awning.

Pets should be exercised in the areas provided where available, or off site.

Owners must ensure that their pets do not foul the site and are responsible for cleaning up after them. If it is deemed a pet is creating a nuisance or causing disturbance to others, their owner will be asked to remove them from the site.

With the exception of guide dogs, pets are not allowed in the toilet block or other buildings.

Our pitches are big enough to pitch a caravan and standard 2.5m awning.

Dishwashing
Sinks with hot water are provided for dishwashing in the amenity block; please only wash dishes in the sinks provided for this use. Our water is metered; please avoid waste.

Laundry
Within the amenity block there is a laundry room equipped with stacked washing/dryer machines and a sink for hand washing. Please only wash laundry in the sink provided for this use. No washing lines or rotary washing lines allowed on site.

All chemical toilets must be disposed of in the emptying points provided. Waste water containers and chemical toilet cassettes must only be washed out at the emptying points.

Drinking water taps
These are located at each pitch and around the park. They are for drinking purposes only and we ask that you use them hygienically and economically.

Fires and barbecues
No open fires are allowed. Disposal type barbecues are not permitted. Portable barbecues are allowed. Please keep all hot pans and barbecues off the grass.

Please respect other guests and keep noise to a minimum and no noise at all between the hours of 11pm and 8am.

Cars must be driven with care whilst on the park roads and must not exceed 5mph. Cars must not be washed or maintained on the park. Please note that the Road Traffic Act applies to all vehicles on the park roads.

Litter/rubbish
Bins are provided for the disposal of your rubbish. Littering of the park and surroundings will not be tolerated. Large items of rubbish must be disposed of off-site.
