  • Well-maintained and attractive cricket club a short walk from the sea
  • A five-minute drive to Lytham St Annes and 20 minutes to Blackpool
  • Clubhouse on site with catering at weekends and bar open daily
You’re sure to have good innings on a break at St Annes Cricket Club, an award-winning Lancashire club with touring pitches available for guests a five-minute drive from the Fylde coast seaside resort of Lytham St Annes... With facilities good enough to hit you for six, the site has a family-friendly clubhouse (children under parental supervision at all times please) organising regular activities like a weekly quiz night and showing sport on one of five big screens. If you reckon nothing beats watching the match in the bar with a pint and a snack or two, you’re in luck: the clubhouse is open daily and food is served (every evening except Monday, and all day at weekends). As a bit of a conversation starter, guests are automatically given temporary membership of this club (where sporting legend Freddie Flintoff used to play) for the duration of their stays… Cricket is of course played at the club every weekend – along with darts and dominoes in the bar – but pitches are set safely away from the action (yet close enough should you want to catch some of the game). It's also a handy location if you’ll be aiming to explore the local area as well as watch a couple of matches, as the club is a 15-minute walk from the Lytham St Annes promenade and 20 minutes to the town centre with its shops, restaurants and pubs. The site is fully secure and has barrier control. A toilet and shower block, accessible 24 hours a day, was opened in 2019.

Local attractions

Visiting this site in the summer months? Events including the Lytham music festival are held every July and the St Annes International Kite Festival is organised in August (both within a five-minute drive of the park). If you’re not here during these months, there’s still plenty to do in the local area: why not try rowing a boat on the saltwater Fairhaven Lake (10 minutes’ drive), birdwatching at the Ribble and Alt Estuaries (15 minutes) or having a little lope around the old-school Lytham Windmill? Closer activities include sessions on the green at St Annes Old Links Golf Club a few minutes’ walk away or at the Royal Lytham and St. Annes course (10 minutes’ drive). For traditional British seaside times instead, Blackpool is within 20 minutes’ drive (or 40 minutes by bus, with the bus stop half a mile away) for the lights, tower and amusement arcades; inland towns to visit include Preston, 35 minutes, to swing by the fine arts and archaeological artefacts at the Harris Museum & Art Gallery.

Non-electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Friendly welcome, well kept grounds, clean showers and toilets, able to use the facilities of the club house, Nothing is too much trouble for the staff all very helpful. Would highly recommend

Disliked: Outdoor dishwashing area open air and would benefit from a wooden shelter to help keep it clean and door lock moving higher for short people. Elsan point would benefit from a hose fitting to tap and grid lift tool. These would be a bonus the groundsman is very personable and eager to help with any issues.

Non-electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: The groundsman told us on arrival that we could have arrived before midday if we had wanted to and on the day of departure we could stay all day. He also said if we book direct it is cheaper. Clean showers and toilets. Bar on site for meals and drinks. Close to the beach.

Disliked: The booking fee £9 charged by ‘pitch up’.
Pitch up gave the wrong post code and we couldn’t find the venue.
Pitch up booking confirmation stated the time of arrival and departure as midday.

Liked: This is an excellent site. We were given a friendly welcome, the facilities and transport links are great. The toilets/showers are exceptionally clean and the site was very quiet and peaceful.
