What customers say
Great site, loved the views, especially of Blencathra. Staff are super friendly and helpful, facilities are spotless, and the communal area's got all you need. Perfect for exploring the Lakes. A bit of road noise and the odd shower temp blip, but overall brilliant. Folks want to come back!

Very clean and quiet, would recommend
Camping pod (no pets)
Liked I visited 1st sept for 2 nights so it was outside the busiest period.
The whole Site was very quiet and clean, pod was clean as well. There was a picnic table outside which i appreciated. There was a light in the pod as well which I didn't expect so it was nice suprise. Staff was very friendly. The site is easy to access by car, not far from the main road which was perfect for me. I will definitely recommend and use again. Toilets and shower block clean and looked recently refurbished/ new.
Disliked - there was no built-in hairdryer in female toilets, i didn't have my own hairdryer but there was a plug to use one

Well worth the money and the experience.would definitely visit again.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Well what a campsite, very clean and professionally run, everything thought out. A must for anyone thinking of visiting the Lakes. I've been visiting the lakes for over 50 years and have found a gem of a campsite.. friendly staff..see all photos. Even has a common room with freezer and fridge. Not a piece of rubbish anywhere..ever the wate bins got replaced with new ..
Disliked Just the shop no local fresh foods , just tins and sweets that we could see..

From the manager: Hi
Thanks for the review. We have tried to stock perishable goods in the shop but we are too small to get the high throughput required to make this viable, and as a result there is too much waste. Our local farmshop at Basecamp is 5 minutes away and we hope this provides a reasonable alternative.
Best regards

Camping pod (no pets)
Liked This was my first camping/glamping experience! I was a bit nervous because I don’t like dirt! But the pods were immaculately clean and the communal toilets and showers smelt and looked spotless too.
We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed a fire pit toasting marshmallows and cooking our sausages. The children had a ball playing together and spotting the peahens and peacocks.
Thank you for making it so special. I will visit again.

Electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch
Liked This was easily one of the best campsites we’ve stayed at. Check‑in was relaxed and straightforward, and our pitch was incredibly spacious. The facilities were excellent, especially the communal area with a kettle, toaster, fridge, and freezer, which made storing and preparing things so much easier. The toilets and showers were clean and well maintained throughout our stay. We’d happily return and would definitely recommend it to others.
Disliked Nothing.
