Seven acres of a smallholding, plus two pubs within walking distance, plus only a small handful of pitches… it all adds up to a most peaceful rural break in the North Yorkshire countryside. Seven Acres is a back to basics site 10 minutes’ drive from Pickering and a few minutes’ drive from the edge of the North York Moors National Park, so you can be sure of some splendid scenery nearby. The proximity of the national park of course means lots of places to get out for a hike, but there’s more beyond that too – from this spot you can easily get over to Scarborough for seaside days, to York for city strolls or to Flamingo Land for animal encounters and theme park thrills. Not that you have to even leave the site to get started on those animal encounters – there are horses, dogs and cats at the smallholding, and you may well spot some wildlife around the place too. You’re welcome to bring your own dog along to join in the fun; there’s a dog park on site where they can give their paws a good post-travel stretch. Pitches here are simple in style, with just a toilet block on the facilities front, but rather handily they’re within walking distance of not one but two great country pubs. Take the half-hour stroll to either and you can reward yourself with top-notch local ales and a plate of something tasty to eat.
