Liked Not satisfied

Disliked Could have been a nice site but shame about the owner, who was angry and aggressive - clearly learned his customer service skills from Basil Fawlty. Horrible person. We won’t be returning.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely flat site within easy walking distance of town. The manager is very friendly and the facilities kept spotless. There are several ‘bathrooms’ and a separate toilet & sink section. It’s very quiet and barely any road noise, which is what we like as we live on a busy road. Good WiFi but no problem with signal here anyway.
We got the bus to York and Beverley which only takes about 45 minutes and saved us unhooking our camper from the awning.

Disliked Having to leave. We’ll definitely visit again.

Liked Everything about the site. Dog-friendly, large pitches, quiet yet welcoming and the facilities were good. The location was great, within walking distance of the shops and pubs of Pocklington and with a great on-site café too. We'll be going back.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Great site, nice and peaceful. Friendly and professional staff. Great cafe on site serving hot breakfast, lunches and afternoon teas. Sit outside area too. The grass pitch was well kept and nice and flat. Waste and fresh water services good. Toilet and amenities block spotless. Great for visiting Yorkshire Air Museum (9 miles). Local village too with plenty pubs and quirky shops.

Disliked Nothing I disliked about this site.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely quiet site.
Nice dog walking area.
In walking distance to the Lovely Pockington town where you can get a bus to York or Hull.
Few cafes, pubs to sit outside and enjoy the weather.
Enjoyed seeing the horses and goats in the field.
Toilets and showers very clean.
Barrier to get in so a very secure site.

Disliked Our only dislike was shared toilets but other than that lovely visit, would come back.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked We recently stayed at this lovely little campsite with our touring caravan and had such a wonderful experience. The site itself is small and cute, which made it feel peaceful—perfect for a relaxing getaway.

The toilets and facilities were clean throughout our stay, which we really appreciated.
What made it extra special, though, were the animals! There were two beautiful horses in the nearby field who would occasionally come up to the gate—we were lucky enough to give them a stroke a few times. There were also two cheeky goats who kept us entertained. The owner was so kind, she gave me and my little boy some bread to feed them, along with telling us a bit about their personalities.

Our only wish was for a small children’s play area, my little boy befriended 2 children and there was nowhere for them to play and we had to be mindful of them getting too close to other caravans and motorhomes.

We would definitely return and highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a peaceful break.

Local attractions

If long-distance routes like the Way of the Roses, the Minster Way and the Yorkshire Wolds Way are a tad too tough, there are easier wanders closer to the site. Follow the footpath that passes the site as far as Pocklington Wood (a 20-minute walk or three-minute drive) for a circular route that’s well suited to walkers, or get behind the wheel for the 10-minute trip to Millington Woods and Millington Pastures. Further slow-paced activity can be found with a day’s fishing at Conifer Lake or Allerthorpe Lakes, while those in search of something a little more energetic can stick to Allerthorpe for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, sailing and paddleboarding, and some time splashing around the inflatables in the aquapark. History buffs might get their adrenaline in a different way… Trips to the Yorkshire Air Museum and Eden Camp give an insight into life during the world wars; after that, make a stop at the deserted medieval village of Wharram Percy. Craving an urban day? The museums, ghost tours, breweries and shops of York are half an hour away, and Hull’s aquarium, Old Town and Arctic Corsair museum are 40 minutes from base.
