  • Four-acre and level pub and riverside site on the Norfolk Broads
  • Private fishing lake in a wildlife haven
  • Free slipway use, barbecue area and food served by the fire
There are times when you just want a ferry relaxing break. Away from the hordes in the seaside resorts, alongside peaceful riverside scenery, and with the option on site of river fishing, lakeside fishing or just taking a pint of Woodforde Wherry to sup by the riverside and watch the ferry chug back and forth… All, thoroughly, sorted. Reedham Ferry Touring and Camping Park is a pub site in the Norfolk Broads, with a private fishing lake available to guests to land carp, bream or rudd; you can also fish for free from the site on the banks of the River Yare. The four-acre site is level and landscaped with views of the Norfolk countryside and marshes; if you’re not fishing, take your binoculars to the riverside to spy on the local herons, marsh harriers and kingfishers. And if you do want to be beside the seaside for a day, Great Yarmouth is about 11 miles away. Pitches at Reedham Ferry include free use of the slipway if you’re bringing along a dinghy or two. There’s a barbecue area on site for putting together your own grub – or you could just sit by the fire in The Archers and have your dinner brought to you: a ferry good deal all round.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked The location and site is very nice, being beside the pub and also the small car ferry which crosses the River Yar every few minutes.

Disliked One minor thing and that is that on arrival it wasn't too clear which pitches were available and no one could confirm it.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Ferry was good and to sit by river at the pub was pretty.

Disliked Pitches not marked, no sign to tell you where pitch number is. Showers annoying. Press button last about 2 seconds before they go 0ff. Light in gents toilets kept going out so shower in the dark. Pub food basic typical pub grab and very over priced. Gave it a second try but won't be going again. No wifi at all.

Electric grass pitch

Liked We had an amazing stay at this campsite. It's a peaceful retreat surrounded by beautiful marshland and long walking paths—perfect for anyone who loves nature as much as we do. The site is clean and well-maintained, with all the facilities you need. The camping plots are spacious, giving plenty of room to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Highly recommended for a restful getaway!

Disliked The only downside was that we couldn’t choose our own plot—it was assigned to us. It would be great to have the option to pick a preferred spot, especially in such a scenic location.

Overall, a wonderful experience and highly recommended for a restful getaway!

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked A small, friendly camp. Warm, clean shower and toilet facilities. Very quiet on the camp even though there is a pub next door where you can sit by the river and have a meal or a drink. The pub welcomes well behaved dogs.

You can take a 20 minute stroll along the river bank to the village and enjoy a super cream tea whilst watching the boats go past.

Electric grass pitch

Liked We were almost hypnotised by the gentle sound of the trees and reeds blowing in the breeze. The site was very relaxing; rural and attractive. It’s right next to the ferry. This was an adventure to take at high tide; with limited clearance on the ramp!
We needed to use our blocks.
The showers and toilets are clean.
The Ferry Inn is next door and serves nice food. It felt like a lovely bonus. There are more pubs along the banks of The Yare. Reedham village is a short walk away and has a fish and chip shop (cooks in beef dripping) and a small grocers. The best thing about it is its railway station with a very efficient service (every two hours) to Norwich (or Lowestoft). You can be in Norwich inside 20 minutes.

Disliked The unreasonably steep and uneven steps up to the shower block; its wobbly handrail and the fact that the security light cuts out when you reach the steps. You need your own torch visit the loos.
The shower block is dated. The washing up area is very tired and difficult to maintain clean.
The site is not suitable for disabilities.
Basically, the site could use some money on it to clearly mark the pitches, improve the paths and update the facilities. It’s a busy enough site to justify some investment.

Electric grass pitch

Liked This is a very peaceful site alongside ghetto river by the chain Reedham Ferry.

Plenty of room, toilets and showers good, nice walks along the river, and a nice village of Reedham with two pubs and two coffee shops on the river just a short walk away. Pub right on the doorstep.

Fishing lake for campers.

All in all a very nice location and site.

Local attractions

Walk along the river to Reedham village for fish and chips, Reedham Quay and more pubs: the Lord Nelson has free gigs most nights, or you could take the yard of ale challenge in The Ship – both pubs are dog-friendly and dish up huge portions of food. The Humpty Dumpty Brewery, one of the breweries supplying the site, has a shop selling its beer alongside local ciders and produce. For families, Pettitts Adventure Park is also in Reedham, with a kids' theatre and animals to feed and pet. From Reedham, take the 12-mile cycle route starting from Reedham Quay and going through local towns and villages, or take the chain ferry across the River Yare to drive on through the countryside. But as it’s the Broads, a bit more mucking about in boats is definitely in order: as well as the vehicle ferry from the park itself, several companies in the area offer cruises and guided tours or you can go rowing, canoeing or sailing under your own steam. Take the kids to goggle at the gibbons at Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens, just outside Great Yarmouth: the seaside town is about 11 miles from Reedham Ferry and will keep small fry entertained for hours (if not days) with its circus, Sea Life, seafront Golden Mile and 12 amusement arcades.
