  • Peaceful and off-grid pop-up camping field on a Cotswolds dairy farm
  • Diddly Squat Farm Shop and Moreton-in-Marsh both 15 minutes’ drive
  • Honesty shop selling ice cream and milk on site; pub 10 minutes’ walk
New in 2026, North Cotswolds Dairy is a peaceful pop-up site on a working dairy farm, with a tree-sheltered field set among the spectacular undulating hills of the Cotswolds National Landscape – off-grid they may be, but the pitches all have stunning countryside views. The resident pedigree herd of cows graze the fields, along with a small flock of rare Greyface Dartmoor sheep, and you can often see red kites soaring in the sky or hear the resident barn owls hooting at dusk. This is a simple sort of a spot, off grid and minus showers, but with clean portable loos and an honesty shop selling local bacon, ice cream and honey as well as fresh eggs and milk produced on the farm. It’s actually pretty special milk, as it’s pasteurised on site and supplied to Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm Shop (15 minutes’ drive) to make their ‘cow juice’ milkshakes. North Cotswolds Dairy is central to many cute Cotswold villages and towns, and it’s also about 10 minutes’ walk from a popular pub serving classics like fish and chips or burgers. There are also more foodie options and a convenience store in Shipston-on-Stour (10 minutes’ drive).

Local attractions

Keen to hear the dawn chorus uninterrupted by 21st-century traffic noise? Take an early-morning stroll to The Rollright Stones (20 minutes’ walk), a multiple group of limestone standing stones thought to date back to the Bronze Age. On clear mornings, you can catch a colourful sunrise from there, along with the tweeting of birds going about their morning business. If you’ve tasted the milk produced at North Cotswolds Dairy, you may care to see it in stock at Diddly Squat Farm Shop (15 minutes’ drive), which also sells all manner of local Cotswolds produce. The Farmer’s Dog pub is half an hour away by car, and Clarkson’s Hawkstone Brewery (20 minutes) is open for tastings. You can also meet the Shire horses and tour the Victorian brewery at Hook Norton, or sample whisky and gin made locally at the Cotswolds Distillery Visitor Centre (both 10 minutes). Pretty Cotswolds villages close by include Moreton-in-Marsh (15 minutes) with its soft-stone cottages and sprawling Tuesday market. Bourton-on-the-Water (25 minutes) is bisected by the River Windrush and home to the kid-friendly Cotswold Motoring Museum and Birdland Park and Gardens.
