Liked: Loved the farm and the views of the hikes I was doing! Toilets are really good but we’re getting really dirty throughout the day.
I liked the easy facilities, skip for a bin and open washing up sinks
How close both mountains were only a 7 minute drive to The Roaches
I really like the check out time being later so you can have a slow morning
Disliked: A lot of people camped very close by the toilets and this made going a very awkward walk, the family were listening to explicit songs too so I wouldn’t have been happy if I had my daughter with me. I was told I couldn’t camp near the lake as it was reserved for fishing, however I watched 4 people pitch up lake side who were not fishing and nothing was said to them.
In the shop I was made to feel slightly awkward that I was on my own, the lady kept repeating I had booked 2 adults and I was trying to explain the site automatically does this even though I booked for one person. Also the farm dogs roam around the campsite all day and night taking food and drinking your dogs water it’s no issue but they poo near your campsite and there’s no one to pick it up but you. If you had a dog that did not liked to be approached this may be an issue for you.

Liked: Loved this campsite. It is a working farm so it’s really nice to watch all the animals. Farm shop has milkshakes, ice creams and quite a lot of other bits too. Toilets were clean and shower was worth the extra £2.50 too.

Liked: Great little farm shop on site everything was fresh and the prices were great we expected to pay a lot more for the quality we got and even bought more to take home with us as we were leaving, milkshakes are also amazing! The hosts were really kind and polite, clean site with well looked after pitches, kids loved that we could go and see the animals.
Disliked: There was a problem with the portaloos on the last day due to a few people on site that I watched emptying their waste in and all over them but we were offered an alternative and the hosts did their best to sort the issue it absolutely wasn’t their fault at all.

Liked: The shop was well stocked with lovely food
The staff were friendly and very helpful
The ground where you pitch is well drained
Beautiful scenery
close to great walks
The reform pub is excellent and in walking distance
quiet at night
Disliked: when we arrived on Saturday morning there were 4 porta loos available for use in our field over the first may bank holiday with plenty of loo paper and clean. By Sunday lunch time they were as bad as music festival toilets. Full, no paper....bad. No sign of being changed the staff did eventually open for all to use the ONE real toilet by the shower you had to pay for.
This is why I have given a mediocre score.

Liked: The area and site was nice, farm shop had everything you’d need. Not far from local town. Really good stay
Disliked: No showers and only two toilets, although can see the owners have already got plans in place to improve the facilities
