  • Peaceful family-friendly site in Dry Doddington, Lincolnshire
  • Belvoir Castle 20 minutes’ drive and Clumber Park 25 minutes
  • Bell tents with private showers and a well-equipped shared kitchen
New in 2025, Witham Grange Glamping is tucked away in the village of Dry Doddington, 20 minutes’ drive from Grantham in Lincolnshire. This peaceful and dog-friendly rural spot is designed with relaxation in mind, with a back-to-nature vibe and masses of room over five acres for kids to chase around safely. Accommodation here is in cosy bell tents that sleep up to four guests in single and double beds; each tent has ample seating and storage with cosy bed linen and warm blankets provided (please bring your own towels and a travel cot for any toddlers). Looking for an extra bonus? That comes in the shape of separate, exclusive-use and lockable showers and toilets a short walk away – don’t forget to bring loo roll with you. After more? There’s a shared kitchenette with fridges, microwaves, toasters, air fryers and kettles as well as cooking utensils, glassware, crockery and washing-up equipment for your use. Outside you have a barbecue for alfresco dining and a firepit to snuggle up around, and you can try your hand at coarse fishing or have a tutorial at the pond. No doubt you and the kids will come across the hens, ducks and pet sheep that have free range of the place; keep your eyes peeled for deer and Canada geese on site too.

Local attractions

If you’re after a couple of cultural days out, this corner of Lincolnshire has lots to offer. The sprawling 19th-century Belvoir Castle (20 minutes’ drive) is open for tours of its opulent staterooms and Capability Brown-designed parkland. There’s an animal park and petting farm for the kids, and a high-end retail park if you fancy a bit of souvenir shopping. Historic Lincoln (half an hour) is home to a Gothic-style cathedral with lots of priceless manuscripts in its ornate Wren Library; you can also visit the original Magna Carta at the castle and walk around the medieval city walls. Perhaps that’s too much history for the kids? Let them wear off energy in the extensive wooded grounds of National Trust-owned Clumber Park (25 minutes), where you can all look for woodpeckers and buzzards among the trees. Also under NT management, Belton Estate (15 minutes) has an adventure playground with rope trails in its grounds. Should you hit a rainy day, there’s an indoor play centre for younger kids too.
