Relaxing walks and wildlife spotting are on the cards, as is angling – this 65-acre reservoir is one of the best match venues in the Midlands. The adjacent sailing club hosts taster sessions for those new to the sport, while more open-air activity is on offer at Banbury's well-maintained outdoor lido (20 minutes' drive). Northamptonshire was once known as the county of 'spires and squires', so it'll come as no surprise that the local area is home to a wide range of historic houses and estates.
