  • Family- and dog-friendly site in the Lincolnshire Fens
  • Adventurers’ haven: walking, biking and riding routes, and boat hire
  • Slow-paced site: golfing and fishing less than 10 minutes’ walk away
Don your explorers’ cap for oodles of hiking, biking, riding and boating… At Springfield Farm Campsite, a family-friendly site half an hour’s drive from Spalding market town in Lincolnshire, they’re all part of a relaxing getaway. Inside the Lincolnshire Fens, Springfield Farm is a prime jumping-off spot for exploration of this part of Cambridgeshire – there are tons of trails criss-crossing the Fens that should suit cyclists, ramblers and horseback riders down to the marshland ground, and you can hire a narrowboat for a day of tootling along the Fens’ small rivers in March (30 minutes away). For that sedate experience, net yourself some prime lakeside seating and cast a line out at North View Fishing Lakes, less than a minute’s drive or 10 minutes’ walk from the site, or play a round at the neighbouring Gedney Hill Golf Course instead. Back on site, there’s play equipment, petting animals, table tennis, football and basketball for the whole family – even your pups will be kept busy with a few turns in the enclosed dog walk area. Once you’ve all worked up an appetite, head to the shared kitchen or fire up the barbecue and get to cooking (you can grab supplies from the grocery store two minutes down the road or one of the larger supermarkets in Wisbech, half an hour away). If you’d prefer a change of scenery, try one of the restaurants within 15 minutes of Springfield Farm.

Walnut electric optional grass pitch

Liked: This site is fantastic, We stayed for two nights. The thought behind having the park in the center is great. It meant we could give so much freedom to our 6 year old girl as she could go off and play and we could see her 90% of the time. The other children ended up at ours and her at theirs it was a childhood like I remember having. Clare was an outstanding host and would often end up taking multiple children round on her golf buggy as well as running a pottery painting session. Stu was brilliant with the children when they went to help him with feeding the animals in the mornings. The on site cafe and pizzas ran by their daughter and her partner are great and again both are very friendly. This is a proper family ran site with children and families having fun is the first thought. Be it from just a chat to making sure there is always something to do. From the swings, go-karts, football nets, Foosball and table-tennis plus more for the older ones. The young ones also don't get forgotten with a smaller set on swings and multiple little slides. There is also a toy container which holds various little toys for them plus next to this is a honest fridge with ice-creams and drinks. As you can probably tell I would definitely stay here again and am already planing to return with hopefully more people in tow. On a side note the Internet is not great, I didn't want to put this in the dislikes as it meant me and the wife bare touched our phones all weekend but there was enough for us to do what we really needed to and not get lost scrolling.

Liked: Just arrived home from such a Beautiful break away at Springfield farm. So much for the kids to do. They absolutely loved feeding the animals everyday. The day we arrived a new baby alpaca was born. She’s a beauty. Playing on the park and LOVED playing on the go-carts. Clare and stu were really helpful and so lovely. My oldest Ted Would often catch a little ride on Clare’s buggy back to the tent. He was in his elements. The little things ay. We will defo be back. Highly recommend

Liked: We had the best stay. There is so much to do for the kids, park, go karts, football, basketball, feeding the animals. The owners were so lovely couldn’t help you enough. We rented a picnic bench and fire wood , you can also get bbqs etc. The pizzas and food they have on site on Saturdays was lovely as well as all the toys / games around the site. Thank you so much for a fabulous camping trip. Kids loved it that much my youngest was crying when we had to leave.

Disliked: That we only booked for one night 🙈🤣 We will definitely be back and for longer.

Liked: What an amazing campsite! The hosts were very kind, and their facilities were very good and clean. They had good activities for kids, so all the kids had a great time. Especially my daughter liked coloring pottery. The beautiful sky at sunset in this campsite were beyond my ability to describe. Highly recommend.

Local attractions

Start your stay at Springfield Farm Campsite by exploring the surrounding towns and villages: visit the bi-weekly markets and try your hand at pottery painting in Spalding, marvel at the ruined abbey and three-sided bridge in Crowland, and scoot over to Wisbech for Elgood’s Brewery and Peckover House and Gardens. If Peckover has whetted your appetite for stately old piles, you’re well served around here: the spectacular Oxburgh Hall and Tattershall are both within an hour of the site, and you can feel like nobility at the British Royal Family's country retreat at Sandringham, 45 minutes away. Want a change from bricks and mortar? Get out in nature at the Wash National Nature Reserve, 45 minutes from Springfield Farm, or stick closer to base with stops at Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre and Skylark Garden Centre, Maze and Funyard. Take a break from the touristy traipsing to burn a hole in your pocket at Springfields Shopping Outlet, giving the kids (and your card) time to cool off between shops at Adventure Land and re-finding your zen post-spree in the Springfields Festival Gardens.
