What customers say

A gem of a spot! Expect spotless facilities, super helpful staff, and lovely, flat pitches. The surrounds are beautiful for walks. It’s a bit out of the way, but oh-so-peaceful and great value. Wi-Fi might be spotty, but most plan to be back!

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked friendly welcoming staff, nice quite location, well maintained site. the games room was also well maintained. the facilities were really clean and tidy.

Disliked the showers were fine from a cleanliness point of view. However, the water pressure was poor, at one point when fully lathered up I throught the shower was going to dry up completely, thankfully it didn't. my wife was not so lucky, she had to swop shower cubicles.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked We were allocated a fabulous pitch, near to the toilets/washing facilities and facing the lovely lake view. The site is exceptionally clean, quiet and relaxing. The pitch was flat and easy to site our caravan. We were able to relax and enjoy watching the ducks and their babies. They are so friendly they almost came and ate out of our hands!! The location was handy for the cycle route and cycling into Lincoln. On Sunday there was a car boot in the village, just a short bike ride/walk from the site. We enjoyed pottering around for a good couple of hours! John is particularly conscientious of his landscapes and works hard to keep everywhere looking pristine and lovely. All in all a wonderful relaxing 2 night stay. So much so we booked again whilst there to visit next month!

Local attractions

With historic Lincoln ticked off, next up is historic Newark-on-Trent (half an hour’s drive). The market town has a 12th-century castle and an air museum with 65 different aircrafts. If that’s not quite enough history for you, Doddington Hall & Gardens (five minutes) is an Elizabethan manor house with walled gardens, a café and farm shop and the International Bomber Command Centre (25 minutes) traces the story of Lincoln’s Bomber Command. Swap in the museums for the sand if you feel like a lazy day on Lincolnshire’s east coast. Destinations like Ingoldmells and Skegness are an hour and 20 minutes’ drive away. It’s easy to get carried away with the amusements, so those wanting to get back to nature can take on the lakeside trails at Whisby Nature Park (10 minutes) or browse through Pennells Garden Centre Lincoln (10 minutes) Check out the schedule for Newark Showground (20 minutes) for fairs, festivals and events throughout the year. The Lincolnshire Show Ground (20 minutes) has local crafts and livestock or equine classes.
